hey guys,

first of all: thanks for all your hard & continuous work to make Xenoblade an even better game experience.

I tried looking on the web but i didn't find anything sufficient, so i registered here because the 60FPS patch doesn't seem to work for me.
I copied the code directly from the wiki and pasted it into the Xenoblade gecko codes folder, checked the box, in the general dolphin settings i enabled CPU Clock Override to 125%..
Is there anything else i'm still missing? Do i have to change the speed limit in the general settings too maybe?

Thanks a lot for your help!

/Edit: Nevermind, i got it running. Looks & feels absolutely gorgeous! :-)
Just in case if maybe somebody encounters the same problem in the future:
Make sure that in the general settings "Enable Cheats" is actually checked. (...)

Also to ensure smooth 60FPS gameplay you should enable "Show FPS" in the graphics settings and change your CPU Clock Override, your Fullscreen & Internal Resolution, your Anti-Aliasing & your Anisotropic Filtering settings accordingly until you get no slowdowns anymore.
And if you encounter screen tearing you gotta enable V-Sync. But if you enable V-Sync you need to uncheck External Frame Buffer (XFB) under graphics -> hacks and set it to virtual, otherwise your game probably won't start running when you boot it.
I found some values for gem crafting. Before I update the code I'd like a few people to test it. You can make it an AR code and apply it along with the 60fps code. I'll go figure out the JP equivalent now.
$AR gem crafting speed
046684DC 42200000
046684D4 42C80000
046684D8 42700000

Thanks for posting tips, 108Sins. I'll probably add them to the main post later.

/edit JP code
$AR gem crafting JP
0466AD9C 42200000
0466AD98 42700000
0466AD94 42C80000

The three lines of code can alternatively be inserted into the gecko code below "A8000000 00000000 //Run once when apply", which is what I'll do after more testing.

Works so far on my end. Thank you so much! Couldn't do without my smooth gameplay AND my silly British exchanges.

Hate to be a bother, but I also think that the affinity "smilies" on the large affinity menu also move at double speed, as well as the cursor. I can live with these things, but I feel obligated to report bugs nonetheless.
Report away. I previously fixed the affinity smiles, but it's possible the fix got lost. I'll check again.

Turns out there were two sets of smiley values (exactly the same values) and I only edited one set, so only half of them were the correct speed. I also fixed the cursor speed for the affinity stuff. Not sure if my cursor fix affects anything else. There's not much that uses the cursor though and I checked to make sure the map was unaffected.

$AR Affinity fixes

04668864 41900000

Thank you very much for the hard work. I'm 100%ing the entire game with this hack active, so I feel I'm in a good position to "test" it, so to speak.

That being said, let me give another tip for users of this hack: once I began using the Vulkan backend, the performance gains were immense, so much so that I no longer felt the need to turn on the CPU clock override. I still get some lag when I engage large groups, but it's never enough to warrant the override and it never lasts long. Besides, I think it lagged like that when played on the Wii. My point is: try out Vulkan and see what happens. You may be surprised.
Great, you're doing good with catching things we missed!

I updated the movie post with the most concise location of the bugs that I can give.
Updated first Post with a guide and updated code fixes.
Awesome work. I have installed HD pack 8.4 and 60 FPS code (JP version), everything is pretty nice but a input lag during story line conversations. I frequently have to press A or B button (Xbox controller) for 2~3 times to skip each sentence (Framerate is always 60 during these conversations). I mean the first or second input is non-functional like I didn't press the button. I'm sure my controller is fine since this issue does not occur in menus or battles. Any way to fix this?
I didn't check the situation that 60fps code is disabled yet, I will report later.

Update:
1. I tested it when ‘60fps’ code is disabled, this issue no longer occurs again under 30 fps with same graphic configuration.
2. It doesn't help if waiting awhile after pressing or if holding the button down for awhile, I still can not skip current text. The temporary solution is a continuous tap on button A/B for three times.
We've had some input lag issues before, so it may be something for me to fix. I could also try making an instant cutscene text code for JP and see if that helps. I'll experiment on my end. Also need to see if waiting awhile before pressing the button registers it the first time, or if holding the button down does anything.

P.S. It's really uncomfortable to back to 30 FPS after I have adapted to play it under 60 FPS Tongue . 60fps is so smooth like a modern PC game. I’m lovin’ it!
