Me and my friend are trying to play Super Smash Bros Brawl together through Netplay but everytime we want to play it's unstable. We double check everything and it should work but when the person trying to join clicks Connect nothing happens and I can't join. The weird thing Is i can join through Direct Connect but it's super laggy and unplayable. And traversal server only works some parts of the day. One minute in works, the next It doesn't, and after an hour I try it again and it may work. and theres no telling when it will work

Are you using 5.0 stable or the latest dev build and ubershaders?

5.0 stable . sometimes playing with a friend works and sometimes it doesn't. and we don't change anything in the config 

Try the latest dev build.

They probably have the pad buffer too low anyway. Try raising it until the framerate is stable.
