My current computer has 2 video cards because i am using multiple monitors,
One is a gtx 970, and the second one is gt 640
I have a feeling that dolphin is using the gt 640 and not my faster video card because i am getting slow frame rates,
last year, I was running 1 video card on my system, the gtx 970 and windows 7, and it was working fine, no problems, i also was running it on ubuntu, but with 1 video card as well and worked fine,
but this year, I am running linux mint xfce, and 2 videos cards, i don't think linux mint is the problem, although, i really don't want to take out my second video card, just to test, i figured maybe people know here the problem
anyways, How am i able to check which video card the emulator is using, is there a way i can tell it to use my gtx 970?
help! i really want to play zelda, and i don't want to go back to ubuntu or windows, i also can't get rid of my second video card, i was planning on buying another gtx 970 but they are expensive at the moment
thanks!
It should print what graphics card is being used when you boot up the emulator in the yellow text on top of the screen.
So i guess it is using the gtx 970.
Here is what it says,
interl®Core i7-5820K CPU @ 3.30ghz
GenuineIntel, SSE, SSE2, SSSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.3, HTT, AVX, AES, 64-bit support
Note: Option "SafeTextureCacheColorSamples" is overridden by game ini
Note: Option "ZTPSeedupHack" is overridden by game ini
Note Option: "UseBBox" is overridden by game ini
Warning: Opening the graphics configfuratuion will reset setting and might cause issues
Dolphin OGL Video Backend
Video Info: Nvidia Corporation, GeForce GTX 970/PCIe/SSE2, 4.5.0 Nvidia 375.66
I am getting about 10-15 fps
help
What display is the monitor that has Dolphin running on plugged into?
Could be something silly with buffering over two GPUs
II'm not sure which one, but i have just stopped and restarted on each monitor, and i still get the same fps on each monitor,
my linux system is using xinerama, i will disable that this weekend, and see how that goes, if not, i will remove the second video card and see how that goes, i really dont want to do that tho
If you're just doing a multiseat setup, assign each GPU to their seat and only one seat and you should be fine.
Have you tried a newer version of Dolphin than 4.0.2? There have been many performance improvements since. (Just make sure to enable the Hyrule Field Speed Hack in Game Properties > Patches for Zelda: Twilight Princess.)

You'll need to compile it yourself.

On 4.0.2 and older, that patch is not useful, because old versions of Dolphin have a different way of solving the problem that that patch solves. The patch will show up automatically if you update to 5.0 or newer.
