I avoided any adaptors that weren't green across all columns - would you recommend going with this adaptor or the one @zebranco recommended in his post (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bluetooth-4-0-USB-Adapter-V4-Mini-Dongle-Stick-BCM20702-PC-Win-10-8-7-Vista-XP-/252395220086)?

Some adapters had a yellow column for no good reason. I've fixed the wiki page now, and as you can see in the article, the Kinivo adapter is an adapter that works great.

Great cheers - would you say it's worth me going for the Kinivo BTD-400 or the BCM20702?

Whichever is easiest to buy for you. There are not a lot of differences between them.

So I went with the BCM20702 adaptor and I'm having an issue getting Dolphin to recognise it, could you please help?

Can you post the Bluetooth passthrough section of your Dolphin.ini?

Sure, (I posted it along with the Zadig info in the screenshot linked in my previous post)

PID = 2652

Sorry, missed it in your screenshot...

The problem is that your config is wrong. The first part of the USB ID is the vendor ID (VID), the second is the product ID (PID). So VID = 2652, PID = 8684.
