I'll try today and tell you the exact error i got if you want. (UNRELATED) also, why is CTGP 1.02v broken for my dolphin? i get the arrows but i cant view or play the custom tracks. instead i get arrows. i heard it's a JTL error or something, how do i change that?
I recommend you ask Wiimm in
his thread at GBATemp. I'm not an expert on this as all I've done is patch up the ISO using his instructions for the Retro Distribution years ago and more recently, to make the regular MKW Wiimmfi capable. He is responsive and helpful.

Which question is this a response to, the 2nd one? I'm wondering if i'm missing some key things to make this stuff run. I don't want to overwhelm you with questions so take your time. bear in mind my wii broke and shredded my mkwii disk before it did, so i'm without the disk and a functioning wii.
CTGP-R question
The only things i downloaded were the CTGP 1.02v ISO and dolphin. I have the MKWII ISO. I run the CTGP ISO and the cup icons are replaced by two arrows. I am assuming i am missing something and the ISO couldn't find it.
MKWII fun question
I try to enable shell scripts by opening terminal and immediately typing "chmod a+x *.sh". i do nothing in between these steps. after that I get the aforementioned error "is not a directory". I tried opening the file straight through terminal (choosing "open with" and choosing terminal) and it tries to execute. I instead see it fail to open all the .sh files and gives me "is not a directory" and "permission denied" for each one. Am i enabling them incorrectly? I even tried dragging the file directly into the terminal then executing the *.sh.
I think you think I know more than what I really know :-)
Sorry, I got confused with CTGP and Wiimm's own distributions, as I haven't really used those in years. Wiimm's distributions were released as Riivolution (a Wii hack that patches games on the fly at runtime) and as ISO patchers that required pre-patching the ISO and creating a separate patched copy of it. I think his tools can even be used to patch CTGP but I'm not 100% sure. The ISO you are using may be improperly patched, or something.
Regarding the command syntax you mentioned, I can't help you there. Sorry, man but I don't speak Mac...

so how do i got about patching these ISOs? i get a "failed to create hardlink './patch-dir/pre-patch.sh' => './pre-patch.sh': Operation not permitted" when i try to do mkfun so i'm assuming i didn't patch something. bear in mind i have no idea how this stuff works, so assume everything i have hasn't been patched. (this is on windows)

All I did was to follow the instructions
here. That worked for me for patching my MKW ISO to the old Wiimm Retro Pack years ago, and more recently, to patch it with Wiimmfi funcionality. Anything outside of those instructions I'm not really competent enough to answer. That is why I provided a link to the forum where the author could be reached for help.
By the way, the site seems to be down at the moment but I hope this I only temporary.

Thank you for the quick and formal response. I'll take a look, the first time it seemed that they didn't respond to small questions
After I do all the steps it says "0 iso images created". Why?
I got to the end and thought I was done but then I could not find the patched ISO...
