Nothing wrong with NUSd. If you have a common-key.bin file, and are decrypting the files, that's a bit of a grey area, but should be fine as long as you actually own a Wii.
It's entirely fine to use.
Since NUSD is just downloading freely available files from their original copyright holder, it's perfectly legal! Just don't redistribute what you get from it, that's not legal.
