just saw this from back in mar https://www.technobuffalo.com/2017/03/16/is-factor-5-back-in-business-rogue-squadron-developer-claims-it-is/

wonder if there'll get the rights back for the rogue sqaudron games? would be awesome if they could port the cancelled wii game to the switch or put it on the pc, ps4 & xb1.
A big problem is that now Disney owns Star Wars, so the games have to be vetted to make sure they fit within their new Star Wars story-line
Actually the biggest problem is that Disney has given exclusive rights to EA for all Star Wars titles. There is pretty much no way another company is going to be making a Star Wars game any time soon. :/
Well darn.
I wonder if the license would allow factor5 to work with EA?
I don't see why not. In that case, EA is the publisher, but Factor5 is the developer. It wouldn't be the first time EA had someone else do the development for them.

What's really disappointing is that we'll probably never see Vader or Yoda making an appearance in the next Kingdom Hearts game Sad Here's hoping the Avengers at least make it in there /s

I hate to be the bad news girl, but... While EA made a big push to work with partners in the 2000s, they've been moving away from that since 2012 or so as part of their "streamlining". They even shut down the EA Partners program, which was EA's system for 3rd party devs to have EA publish their games. To my understanding, with the way EA is right now, getting a 3rd party game through them would be haaaard...
Disney/EA are both making such ridiculous profits on this license it's unlikely we'll see them let anyone else touch it for quite some time:

Well at the rate Kingdom Hearts 3 is being developed, it'll be out after the EA/Disney deal expires so Star Wars could possibly be a world.
handing the license over EA was a big mistake.

battlefront was garbage, yest it looked very good, but that's where the awesome stopped.
not falling for it again, bf2 will mosy likely be dumbed down again.

original battlefronts were great but haven't aged well at all..

you don't reboot a great game series and then leave out offline mp....just pisses off sp gamers and removes replay value.
i hate it when developers make games that force you to play it their way with little to no freedom.

Hard, but not impossible. Need I remind everyone that this is Factor5 we're talking about? These people are literally magicians. They can bend technology and humans to do their bidding Big Grin
