I hope this is the right place for this kind of request Confused

Is there a code that removes music (just the soundtrack) from Xenoblade Chronicles?

Thanks in advance Blush
Noooooo~ The music is so good!

I know, I already finished the game, it has one of the best OST I've ever heard Blush

I need to turn off music for another reason  Tongue
This forum really isn't for requesting specific cheats though. It's for discussing existing cheats or seeking help to make new ones or sharing any new ones you've made. If you want us to point you in the right direction on how to make or modify a code to disable Xenoblade's music, that's fine.
If you don't mind working for it. You could extract the adx.pkb file and find something to play the music files with then replace the ones you don't want playing with an empty file of the same name. Then follow a tutorial for repacking them into the disc.

I'm not sure if you can use the same technique for loading custom textures on audio files, because if you can that makes it easier by not having to repack them.

It's possible you don't want any adx.pkb audio files, but I'm not sure if simply removing the entire file would break the game.

Thank you, I solved this problem by replacing the music contained in adx.pkb with empty audio files Smile

Hey mate I am trying to also turn off all the BGM/music would you be able to explain how you achieved this is more detail? I have only seen the specific files names like bgm/x65_00.adx etc not adx.pkb? would you be able to share these empty audio files or explain how to get them and where to put them?

Cheers
The .pkb extension is just a generic extension the game uses for its archives. The adx.pkb is just an afs archive that has all of the bgm stored in it. So what you do is you make a silent .adx file and make a copy of it for every file in the extracted folder with the same name (a script to rename/copy would probably save you tons of time here, but you could do it manually if you don't know how), replace all of the normal files with the silent copies, then rebuild the afs archive and replace the file on the disc using WiiScrubber or some similar tool.
I'll probably just make a music volume control code.

/edit This will only take effect when the music changes. No guarantee it activates for all music. Seems to stop some other sounds/voices too.

AR code:
$Music Off
0466a510 00000000
0466a520 00000000

OR

$Music Lower
0466a510 42c80000

42c80000 is the original value, changing it to any float between 0 and 42c80000 (100) will give you reduced music volume. You can probably go over 100 to make it louder. Not thoroughly tested.

/edit Check more recent posts in this thread for possibly a better code.

Not to hijack this thread, but One More Try, your work on all the Gecko Codes for this game is amazing. I'd love to know what you know about this game/these systems.

AAAND, Related to music, sound at least.

Is there any way to reduce the frequency of battle dialogue lines said by ALL party members? (With Gecko Codes) To reduce what's seen in this meme? http://i.imgur.com/CTqR5u9.gif

Thanks~!
