I have a 4790k clocked to 4.5Ghz, 32GB of RAM but running on onboard GPU for the moment. I have been looking around and I would like to be able to run 4K at 60fps with the games looking as nice as possible, what would I need to deliver that? Would a 1050ti be acceptable?
A quick test on my gtx 960 in metroid prime says yes.
I had a 1050 ti, and it was fine at 1080p. But I exchanged it for a 1060 (3 GB) because the 1060 ran everything at 4K, while the 1050 ti seemed to struggle at 4K with some titles. Also, if you want to turn on AA in addition to running at 4K, the 1060 has enough overhead to handle it on most titles. The 1050 ti didn't, unless I dropped back to 1080p.

That is exactly what I wanted to find out. I appreciate you letting me know. I guess I am going for the 1060 then.
Thank you both for helping me come to a conclusion
