I don't want to go reporting a driver bug if it's somehow specific to my setup. But after multiple formats and clean installs I am leaning towards 99% certainty there is some bad voodoo happening specifically with Dolphin and Nvidia drivers.

Stupid question maybe, but are you overclocking your GPU on top of the factory overclock? If so try to revert that, also try downclocking your factory default OC to nVidia Default clocks.

Other question: You reinstalled all software and are up to date, have you tried a different GPU? It might be that your GPU is just broken but it only hits this when using Dolphin on Windows 7.

On another note: I would NEVER in my life install a 9 year old OS on a 1 year old CPU which even by the manufacturer of the OS AND the CPU is "disabled" and "not supported", so try running Dolphin with Vulkan on a recent Linux distro if you don't want to use Win8 or up and are too paranoid about it, but will still use Google, Android, iOS, MacOSX, Facebook, Youtube, Twitter or whatever social media you think fit without thinking about it. (or even the Internet since Google and Facebook are tracking you/collecting your data even when you are NOT on their sites through their Ad-programs even with _donottrack or adblockers.)
Vulkan is perfectly supported on Windows 7. They're not trying to use our D3D11 backend, which we've stated we don't entirely support Windows 7 on because of MS's strange, arbitrary decisions. Leave it alone.
My GPU is overclocked but I have already tried this with everything running stock, even pulling the GPU down to below factory OC, and it still happens. It feels 100% driver related. I haven't tested it on another GPU yet no, that's why I'm hoping to hear from someone else with an entirely different setup where the only commonality is Windows 7 + Nvidia.

I specifically avoid 10 because of the disaster that is WDDM 2.2+. It is wrecking havoc on how PC gaming works and I do not like it. 7 does everything for me just perfectly fine without these problems. Everything I play works flawlessly, just Dolphin is giving me trouble right now and specifically when using Vulkan.

First time I've seen someone blame a driver API for pushing a community in a particular direction....
I was flipping back and forth entering and exiting fullscreen since this seems to be the trigger that mostly causes BSOD with all kinds of errors (page faults in nonpaged areas, attempt was made to write to ROM, etc) and I just pulled up the event log and found a ton of entries with "nvlddmkm" listed in rapid succession. I googled the specific errors I was receiving and found this forum thread: https://forums.battlefield.com/en-us/discussion/38131/directx-function-error-nvidia-are-you-actually-serious-ea-28-03-17-21-34-cest/p124

It even says it can cause your computer to freeze when it's thrown and may require a forced reboot, so it's good to know it's not my hardware Confusedmiley: At this point I wish it at least crashed to my desktop though.

You guys aren't the only ones doing something the Nvidia driver really doesn't like. But it's odd that DOOM and PPSSPP, RPCS3 etc all have no problems playing nice with the driver.
I'm not saying that there isn't a bug in Dolphin's backend, but if the driver bluescreens the system, we can't diagnose that, especially if we can't actually reproduce the bluescreen. Since the driver should never, ever crash the system, regardless of input, this is why we're telling you you need to report this issue to nvidia.

I'm not saying Vulkan isn't supported in Windows 7, I'm saying that Microsoft AND Intel have stated that Kaby Lake isn't officially supported on Windows 7. Hence also the patch telling you to upgrade to 8 or 10 because you have a Kaby Lake CPU.
Last I checked, they weren't here asking about a Windows 7 specific issue, but about a Vulkan specific and GPU driver specific issue.

Stop picking fights with everybody.

Hey buddy, Overclock -> freak here! <-

First of all! Blue screen / Black screen / Flash Screens or Flash Black Screens, Happening when you overclock the GPU Memory.
Of course when you Overclock very high you CPU without giving enough Voltage to vSOC you machine shutdown or Restart
Low Volatges on vCORE is the same results plus Crash Blue Screens.

The First reason is Overclock GPU
Second reason is Bad Drivers
Third reason is incompatibility OS/Mobo/GPU (which is very rare)

Disable Win7 Aero Fix Blue Screen? This is cause Aero using GPU power. I Believe GPU goes bottleneck for some reason
Windows 7 / Windows 10 Works perfectly with Dolphin OpenGL DX11 Vulkan do get wrong with API

To find the problem with Blue Screen or Black Screen or Crash, Shutdown etc, Windows 10 or Win 7..
Go to Event manager, Find Logs & Post me here the Error.

IF error is Kernel Power, Win7 100% problem is the overclock, OS Seeking to leech power.
IF error is Kernel Power, Win10 it could be a bad copy of win10 : ) which I recommend you to replace it from microsoft.
( There are some old win10 versions which have problem likes shutdowns. you can fix the problem with update or replace the DVD )

Lets talk about Dolphon-Emu Now..

After getting into your motherboard Bios and Set everything to Default Like -> CPU Clock! and Ram overclock,
I don't know how to manage getting 3200MHz 32GB Rams stable you are probably lucky.
Or XMP Profile Work Perfect with this Motherboard/CPU/Ram Model, anyways set this to default.

Go to ASUS CPU Tweak cause that's the tool to Overclock your GPU, Set to Default OVERCLOCK OR GAMING OVERCLOCK the defult presets.
