Tried searching google for an answer. Basically I want to speed up the in game emulation speed by more than it lets me. It only lets me speed to around 400% and then stays around there for top speed. If anyone knows a way to break past this barrier please let me know. i'm getting close to 200 fps so i know that isn't the issue.
In the "configure hotkeys" menu, there are buttons to increase, decrease, and disable the emulation speed limit. I don't know if increasing it through the hotkeys has the same 400%, but if you disable it altogether, it'll definitely run as fast as your computer can go.

absolutely can go over 400%! It just depends on what you are emulating, and how powerful your computer is.
