i just checked my processors max. temperature and i found it was 105 C
check this out n tell me wat do u think
http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Core_2/Int...673MG.html
if it's really 105C then 70C is not high at all !
lol get your cpu to 105c and see what happens lol

105c ='s 221f now would you put your laptop in your oven?

Your cpu might be able to handle 105c for a bit (2-5 hours til things got crispy) but think about the rest of your laptop. 105c on your cpu would boil your laptop.

FYI PVC plastic melts @ 80c

but back onm topic your laptop at a certain point will slow itself down way before it gets to 105c prob before it gets to 65c which is why dolphin is slow.

Say your pc gets to 72c @ 100% cpu usage your p8800 wil go from 2.66ghz down to 2.0ghz til it cools off if that doesnt work then ---> 1.8ghz til it cools itself off then it will go back up to 2.66 then get hot again and repeat.

2.66 --> 2.0 --> 1.8 --> 2.0 --> 2.66 --> 2.0

now if you turn off your thermal throttle settings it will stay 2.66ghz at all times but produce more and more heat. In a laptop the heat doesnt escape as well as a desktop so it builds up and might get alot hotter than 72c after lets say 1 hour of game play.

you could get upto 80c-105c after a while without cooling and no way would i ever run a machine @ 80c-105c ever.

So my advice to you is to run prime95 for 1 hour with thermal throttle off but monitor it closely and see how hot it gets. if it gets hotter than 80c then turn prime95 off and get some kind of extra cooling <--(id do this anyway)

BTW this is just my guess atm on why its slow none the less id cool that thing off unless you have money to buy another one after a year or so.

hmm ur right
but it wasnt slowing bcoz of the overheating it was bcoz of the speedstep and i managed to fix it
nw i play it with full speed
but i'm worried abt the laptop itself the temperature is always around 70 C
normally without dolphin it's between 45 - 50 ...
btw laptops can handle extra more than cpu s
