Hey guys.
Been gone for a long time and I've recently gotten back into Dolphin using the Shield as my device. I'm new to android in general so without sounding too newbish, I'd appreciate if someone can answer a few questions.
So I used to have this this running pretty good back in the day on my HTPC (home theater PC on win 7). I have the sensor bar, had a bluetooth adapter that worked, had wii motes that worked.
It seems now with android, it's a little different. I have the program installed fine.My question is about the wii motes and the sensor bar.
Back then even candles worked for a makeshift sensor bar, lol.
1. I read that I need a Mayflash dolphin bar ,, is this different from the regular usb sensor bar that I own that worked with my PC ?
Is it different from the sensor bar from the wi or wii U ?
2. I haven't figured out how to use real wii motes yet,, will the dolphinbar be the key to that ?

The Dolphin Bar is very different from all of those. A regular sensor bar is just a bunch of IR LEDs, but a Dolphin Bar contains a Bluetooth adapter in addition to that, and the data from that Bluetooth adapter is sent to the host device in a special way.

Yes. Currently, the only way to use real Wii Remotes on Android is with a Dolphin Bar. I don't remember if we have any problems with it right now, though... Was there just a GC adapter problem, or a Dolphin Bar problem too?
Ok, thank you for clearing that up about the dolphin bar. I wasn't sure if it was different. Is there an android version are they all the same ?

Not sure what you meant by this, My shield controllers work fine as GC controllers. I don't have an adapter.
So if I also have a wii U , they can't share the sensor bar I assume.

They cannot.

There's no special version of the Dolphin Bar for Android (or any other platform).

You can ignore that part of my post. It was a question that's more for the other people who are reading this topic.
I checked my Dolphin Bar with a recent version on ShieldTV and it works fine.
On a side note, WiiWare- Frogger won't see the second wiimote correctly as NSMBW and Kirby Wii do, fine. Been this way forever... been wonderin'.
Got my Dolphin bar. Connected to Shield. Couldn't get wiimotes to pair. I was in hurry when trying this so I'll try again later.
When plugging in the dolphinbar, does anything happen ? Does the shield throw up any message such as new usb device connected ? (i'm a windows guy).
My dolphin setting are on real wiimotes, continuous scanning on,is there anything else? is there a setting for vibrate when paired ?
I did it a long time ago and they work fine. you have to follow the specific instructions that come with it. When launching dolphin, it will ask you to use the usb device and simply accept. There are some button presses and you need to make sure you're in the correct mode iirc.
You first need to update it with your PC, then connect it to your shield and select mode 4. Next what rclong said.
PC? huh. don't have one...
