Well in that case, there isn't a "dolphin emulator" folder in my documents. I haven't changed it with a portable.text or registry, so what should I do?
When you are in the memory card manager can you go up directories until you get to the folder?

C:/Users/MyName/Desktop/Dolphin 5.0-321 SL/User/GC/
I was right, it's in desktop.
There should be a portable.txt by default in those builds. Any reason for 20XX netplay, because for normal play you should be on stable/recent dev.

Alright, I found the portable.txt. What do I do now to get my game to save?
p.s. I want to use 20XX mostly for the tools it has to help learn l-canceling, wavedashing, etc.
So 5.0-321 is really only for netplay. You should download 5.0 or a recent dev build IMO. You could try deleting cache and config if you really want to use that build.

Smash netplay, rather. There's nothing that makes that specific build better than later builds - it's just that the Smash community standardized on it (before moving to FM...)

Okay, so I tried 5.0, and that worked pretty well, until I installed the mod. Now I just get a bunch of "invalid write to" and "invalid write" error messages and a black window where nothing happens.
Edit: I actually got it working on 5.0-321, mostly. I just need to figure out how to get the gecko codes to work.
