Eh? Don't put us on a pedestal. Ever. I hate that. Literally anybody with a computer and an arm device can contribute to the Android port.
My only gripe was that OP was advertising the device in an extremely misleading way and saying things that were flat out false. Their thread has been edited to stop being misleading and entirely false. Beyond that, I don't care.
OP is doing something that happens literally every year. User runs to the forums saying device works great for dolphin. We roll our eyes because they're ALWAYS wrong and generally leave out huge caveats. Users run out to buy the device, and then complain to us when it's slow and we frankly don't give a shit. It was their fault for not listening in the first place.
I'm sorry O.O
I have a deep respect for what the Dolphin community has achieved, and as though as I wouldn't call it putting anyone on a pedestal, I understand what you said.
What angered me was seeing someone talking to a developer like they knew more about the emulator than them. I see that done too often throughout the software industry, and it bothers me. I didn't mean to be harsh or anything, nor imply that the developer's word means authority. Just that they know their shit about their product better than the end user.
To be fair though, anybody with a paintbrush can paint, that doesn't diminish the greatness of what the great painters have achieved throughout history. I really think Dolphin is a great feat both of software engineering and of collaboration.
That said, I stand corrected

I'm sorry if what I said came out wrong

I wasn't aware of that, though when degasus replied to this thread I realised that he was a developer as it says so in his profile.
I wasn't trying to sound condecending in my reply and I apologise that I sounded like that. I just didn't feel that the people/developers replying to this thread had much of a positive attitude towards this news despite the OP being a little over enthusiastic. I understand that the developers deal with these types of misleading threads all the time, however I would like to believe that the mods/developers on this forum would be a little more positive and even delighted by the fact that many GameCube games on Dolphin now seems to be playable and even enjoyable on the mobile platform, regardless of being 100% accurately emulated or not.
I would like to thank degasus for his sensible and realistic reply.

If anyone understands the significance of anything Dolphin can do, on any given platform or situation, it's the people who envisioned it and put thousands of man hours into making it happen. It took passion and willpower, a lot of it, including from the people working on the Android build, which you are saying 'don't understand the significance of this'. And if all I was talking about was development work, it'd already be an amazing feat. But it is so much more. Dolphin, among some other emulation teams, managed to turn the mess that was the emulation scene into a highly organized, user-friendly, thriving community. Mods, devs and adms have been providing extensive support, teaching and most importantly, fighting misinformation here, for more than 10 years. So yeah, please show some respect. This applies to Cencil as well. You don't get to advertise software in a way that goes against the dev's will. The very people who coded the Android build are telling you things are not the way you are saying they are. So they are not. If there was 'hate for android and mobile SoC' here, you wouldn't be able to play GC games on your phone.

The One Plus 5(it's been confirmed that is what they're calling it) should have better performance when it's released later this year. That typical thick Samsung skin is one of the reasons why I don't buy their phones. That and they've become the Apple of android.

To be hoenst, that is the best video I've seen so far showing the performance of the S8. And indeed, it is an impressive device. Videos showing light games at fullspeed doesn't show what the device can do. But this one here shows quite a few hard games, and how good/bad they run.
Hi Cencil, will you upload more games with the SD 835 version? I would see how games like Resident evil, or Metal gear work in the new CPU.
Tanks for the work
hey long time lurker here. So with a few changes in settings. Many games seem to be running VERY well. Awkwardly, I found out when I lock the screen and unlock back in, it gives me a nice speed boost - especially when it starts to stutter. Most games were recorded 10+ min to show some stability, except for Soul Calibur as I ran out of memory when recording. Also incase anyone is curious, Im gaming on a NES30 Pro controller. I hacked a smartphone clip from (Sonys DS4 clip), to it.
Anyhow I hope this draws more attention to Android specific builds!

RE0 and Remake both work at really good speed. RE4 is still broken on the newer builds. Haven't tried metal gear solid though
