Hi, I'm new to this kind of work and I wanted so start with a simple enough game so I chose SM64.
I'm already stuck with a problem, some custom textures don't load even though I replaced the correct files.
I don't know what's causing this issue, can someone please explain to me or point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance.

It happened on Dolphin 5.0 stable, 5.0-3385, Ishiiruka-866, Ishiiruka-919

Some images showing the problem, you can see the life gauge is not being replaced by Dolphin, even when the file is in the folder:

Dolphin stable and the latest dev builds/Ishiiruka have a different file format. What format are you using?
Also did you check the box to Load custom textures?

Do they? The format of 4.0 is different, but the format of 5.0 isn't different from the one in the dev builds as far as I remember...

Yes. You can see it on the icons in the top-right corner in the screenshot, for instance.

Thanks, yes, I'm using PNG, it seems to be a standard.
Load Custom Textures is checked, some textures load and some don't (the HP gauge doesn't, everything else in the UI does).
Could be a specific problem with the textures themselves, I can send some files for testing if it's needed.
So you see the yellow message that states that custom textures were loaded after you started the game? Also, under your graphic options, make sure the Texture Cache Accuracy isn't set all the way to safe. That can prevent some textures from loading

Don't you mean make sure it is set to safe? Not setting it to safe won't help with anything other than performance (unless you're using the old 4.0-era texture name format, but that isn't the case here). I don't know if setting it to safe really should be necessary, though...
Maybe it's not necessary anymore, but when I 1st started using custom textures, about 4 months ago when I got a beefier computer & GPU, I noticed that either some, or none of the custom textures would load when I had it set to safe. So I fiddled around with graphic settings, and when I slid it to about half way, it suddenly fixed the problem. I was also making sure I was using the latest 5.0 dev build at that time. So I always make sure to recommend that it's not set all the way to safe in case that's causing the issue.

That was necessary with old texture packs because the old 4.0-era texture name format required users to use the same texture cache accuracy as the one used when dumping. (Note that for some texture packs, you had to set it to something other than safe, but for other texture packs, you had to set it to safe. So having a blanket recommendation to not use safe was a bad idea even in the past.)
Gotcha...Sure enough I just tested it on the latest dev build and the textures are all loading just fine when it's set to safe. I don't know why it made a difference when I 1st tried them about 4 months ago, but it doesn't seem to be a problem anymore
Hi thanks for your responses.
I've now tested texture accuracy on all levels, the problem persists.

I'm thinking it's a problem with the textures themselves but I can't find where the error lies.
Maybe an expert TP creator can help, I uploaded the files here.

Not a single one of the HP slices shows up, I used the same procedure with all the textures and it's just
so strange that those specifically don't work. Any help is appreciated.
