Hello,
I'm currently trying to optimize my system to run Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, and I've played with a lot of the settings, but nothing seems to make the game playable consistently at 60fps. I have an intel i7 6700HQ and an 4095M Nvidia GEFORCE GTX 950M. I'm certain the GPU isn't the issue, and it was my understanding that a quadcore i7 would be good enough to run the game without significant lag, but that isn't the case. The audio slows down with the FPS and sounds corrupt/crackly. I can run the game at any resolution without any perceivable changes in the framerate. The framerate also seems to be independent of whether or not there is any audio output.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Other info:
OS: Windows 10 x64
Dolphin Ver: 5.0
Ram: 8GB
What non-default settings are you using? What video backend are you using?
Try the latest dev build of Dolphin. If that doesn't help, I think this game benefits from running in Single Core Mode

I do not believe I am using any non-default/non-recommended settings. I'm using Direct3D 11 as my video backend. I've tried OpenGL but there weren't any noticeable performance improvements/detriments. Using XAudio2 for my audio backend.

The game is definitely more stable in Single Core Mode. I've already given that a shot. There is a slight performance decrease, but the game doesn't periodically freeze. However, it is still unplayable at 30-40fps.
Alrighty, so I've solved the speed problem by installing Dolphin 4.01 x64. I don't know why this version runs it faster.
You're probably running in low power mode or something, and Dolphin 4.0 didn't have integer shaders. It's a difference between being extremely light on your GPU in low power mode, and actually needing your GPU to do stuff.
Go to the Nvidia Control Panel and set up a profile for Dolphin to have the Power Management run at High Power. Also make sure that in Windows Power Options you're running in High Performance mode.
My Power Management setting in Windows is set to High Performance and my Nvidia Power Management Mode setting is set to "Prefer Maximum Performance."
Somethings odd. You have a good computer so you shouldn't be experiencing any slow downs. I myself own the game & run it through Dolphin without any problems. Make sure you don't have any programs running in the background that could be eating up your resources. If that doesn't work, check your temps when it's slowing down. Make sure things aren't getting to hot

I'm not running any programs in the background and the temperatures appear to be fine. It's really bizarre. That one particular build (4.0.1) runs my games at full speed without any sort of lag, but the newer version (5.0) and an older version I'm testing out (3.0 DebugFast) have a much lower fps.
I'm at a loss for what dolphin configuration might be causing the problem.
Thanks for helping
