Gecko seems to be at the end most of the time. That's why putting codes like https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=Super_Mario_Sunshine worked. You probably downloaded some codes using the built in downloader and already had the [gecko]
It's not missing part of the code, it's missing the part that tells dolphin what it is so it isn't as meaningless to dolphin as us ;P
What you want to have is:

i got it to work i think? the game is definitely in widescreen but i still has black bars on the side of the screen.

ok i just set the game to stretch under the graphics tab while having the game still be in widescreen thanks to the gecko code, but WHILE also filling the whole screen at the same time. This seems necessary for most GC games with a widescreen patch. Still a win to me since i can see more with this method compare to stretching the game from standard 4:3
