Due to its above average cooling solution for the CPU and GPU, and the fact that the hardware is fast, you should have no trouble with the vast majority of games in Dolphin.
From some of the other reports I was reading, all you have to do is calibrate the screen to achieve proper color properties on that model screen.

I've seen that too. Calibrating can have some effect on the color balance.
But the true underlying issue of the panel is its inability to produce dark blacks. A solid black picture renders instead as a grayish band that changes depending on viewing angle, and the resulting poor contrast produces a 'washed-out' look that color calibration cannot truly account for. It will be particularly evident in darker scenes. IPS displays and
good TN displays aren't perfect either, but they're a lot better.
