I understand it must be rather clearly explained SOMEWHERE, but I have no clue where and "search" doesn't help with "vps" much.
So, what's VPS? What does it mean if something runs, for example, at 17FPS (59/60VPS 100%) etc.? Is that a slowdown on my side? Is that how it would run on the console, slowdown and all?
Also, this question: what's the normal FPS for Wii games? Specifically, Mario Kart Wii and SMG? Do they run at 60 (50) or 30 (25)? What's normal for Wii games in general?
Thanks!
most games have a clock somewhere in the game... i usually use that or if they dont have one its pretty easy to guess by the music speed... im pretty sure that vps is the actual frames being displayed and the fps is the speed it is running the game... for example you could have 1 fps and 60vps.... if you had like a pentium 2 cpu and a gtx 260

(im pretty sure this function is inaccurate)
I... din't understand anything, THELUKESTIR, but thanks anyway!

you know how when you are playing a pc game, the fps shows how many frames per second. The Fps on dolphin (from my knowledge) shows the emulation frames per second, while the VPS shows the actual frames being shown
WEll the fact that it is always out of 60 makes me wonder
like i said before im pretty sure it doesnt work... or its just useless its for telling weather or not your gpu is the bottleneck
well, those things are probably incorrectly named, but VPS is meant to be "Video per second" aka refresh rate, that's triggered by the CPU and so is a good representation of the speed of the emulated CPU.
On the other hand, the fps is the actual framerate of the emulated gpu, which is the game speed in most games (but not all, alien hominid for example is not limited by the framerate).
hmm looks like i had it backwards...
sl1nk3,
so, if my VPS is absolutely constant, but my FPS occasionally dips rather badly; that means that my CPU is just enough, but my GPU is lacking? Am I getting it right?
more or less
In both cases The CPU is lacking because you emulate both ( wii or gc CPU and GPU ) in you CPU
Your graphics card just do the final process
