I understand why people think about Sonic '06 but there is no need to worry.

Well it was kind of focused on in the trailer. Maybe it's just an insignificant level, but seems like Nintendo was trying to emphasize it, like it was the best to thing to showcase. IMO I don't like it,making it a bad thing to showcase. In the end we didn't learn too much from the trailer other than it being sandboxy, Bowser pimping it up, and the direction towards Team Fortress 2 (hats).
I honestly don't understand admin89's criticism; why are you surprised that there are Mario games when you buy a Nintendo console? That's exactly what a Nintendo console is there for. If you were expecting some brand new amazing IP to come out, you bought the wrong system.

I agree Mario and Zelda games are the reasons people buy Nintendo consoles.  I think part of the reason the Wii U failed so bad was because it didn't have a Mario or Zelda title at launch.  Other games are just an added bonus to the masterpieces that Nintendo's software studios create.
It's easy to forget just how good previous Mario and Zelda games have been.

In a world where genuine AAA titles are few and far between, Nintendo have continually released titles that have stood the test of time.

They have rightfully earned my trust and I am certain we will not be disappointed.
Also i believe that the statement that nintendo doesn't create a new game ip apart from mario and zelda is false. Wasn't Xenoblade a new nintendo ip that started with the wii? Splatoon a new ip that started with the wiiu? And there are some original games for the switch too like Arms which might become as popular as Punchout. While most games are around Mario and Zelda they definitely have plenty of other ips old and new thrown around. And exactly the same thing does every of their competitors out there, throwing many old ips with a couple of newer ones to test waters. Now if people choose to ignore other ips and focus on mario and zelda that is definitely not nintendo's fault, that is the gamers choice since new games are thrown out there.
