well, it's not really a snow, just these ugly blue stains.
But that is a great idea with the Zambonis! You can actually go directly to drive the Zamboni and clean the snow Smile

Here is how you get there. I'm switching the new textures on and off:

The camera is little off obviously, we should use our new broadcast/ side view here as well.

Is what the pond looks like at the beginning of the match different?

I think in the pond there is "snow" right from the beginning.
Yes after each period, where the Zambo is cleaning the ice. It resets the ice with the start of each period.
So snow and ice are two different things. Is the ice color ok? Can you just make it more transparent to make it whiter?

The snow could be coming from the player's ice trail texture, it keeps compounding until dark spots get made.
Well, these look to be 2 things. You can make ice any color with that texture with the logos. But during the match, the game renders these blue spots and you don't have control over it. These spots are not reflective- to simulate the snow, but it shouldn't be blue.
If you do a donut in practice mode, the cloudy effect will appear in a circle where you skated. It comes from a texture that gets constantly updated with your skating trail. No idea how to stop that.
yeah, I know what you mean. Would have to probably find that RBG thing and change the tint/ colour or something, if its possible at all.
But ya, the gameplay/ animations stuff is more important, so we should probably focus on that now?
Yeah. I also thought acceleration from a standstill felt bad. It goes stopped -> speed 1 + accel animation -> speed 2 + skate anim. I wanted to try and smooth it out so the player gets faster over the accel anim.
Exactly!! Smile
And it seems like the player starts moving way too soon/quick. Sooner than the actual acc animation trigger. He is not even starting to move his legs and already 1 meter away Lol.

"so the player gets faster over the accel anim." That would be probably optimal. Just make everything within the limitations of the human body.
I'm looking at the code that changes the player's speed. Trying to map out a few more accels and trying to figure out if I can smooth it acceleration, rather than have it just be one value. One big problem is that it needs to work for all players, and it only enter this code section once when speed must be changed.

Not much else to report atm.
Interesting! Thanks for the report!
I have a good news too, we might have working proper self-shadowing soon, as Tino is looking into it for the Ishiruka.

If you have any other news let me know Smile In the meantime, I will continue work on the textures...
