4) the speed of
cross-over animation. Unfortunately slowed too much as a side effect of the other animation code. Looks little unnatural this slow, isn't it

Just skate in bigger circles to trigger...

I know a lot of things

But I think if we do this, we've got the gameplay pretty much covered!
...and this last is not gameplay related, but I read in other thread that you can help it as well.

Your camera centering code is making the player go offscreen on the bottom right. Maybe your zoom tweaks are needed to fix this? It seems like you're trying to hide the crowd, but it's hard to see the player at the bottom. And if I skate from bottom left to bottom right, quickly, I skate offscreen.
I can spend a few more days looking at why the camera pans left about 25% faster than panning right.
I also found two more values which affect the camera angle.

I'll send you the latest .ini in a few minutes and tell me if you still see the issue.
yeah, you were right, the right side pans slower thats why the player gets out of the view when skate faster, glued to the boards. Doesn't happen very often during the match tho.
Sending ini file. Could you little elaborate please, what exactly does "prevent repeat" and "zone lockout time" does to the timing of zooms, before I start to tune them?
Also uploading all the textures I did, so I can send you the link

It's over 7GB (uncompressed), so it takes some time...
Remember they are negative hexadecimals.
Zone lockout: prevents a zone from activating for the specified number of frames. It starts after that zone gets triggered. All zones have individual timers, but they are set with this one value when triggered.
Prevent repeat is the universal lockout for all zones after one has been triggered.

hmm, not sure what this does, I don't see anything different and you?
I'll try even more extreme values...
edit: so with some extreme values it seems like affecting the up/dwn pan od the camera.
Yeah it seemed to change the up down centering or something.
Your ini looks much better than what mine was looking like. Only thing that feels off is how it doesn't pan down quite enough when near the center-bottom. Especially when moving through the center-bottom quickly.
I really want to fix the camera movement, so I'll focus on that before anything else. When I move on from a section of code I start to forget what's going on there.
"Only thing that feels off is how it doesn't pan down quite enough when near the center-bottom."
I actually thought the same thing

I think I slightly adjust that, if you have the same opinion, we got tools for that.
So we still tweaking it. Trying to find the optimal balance between hiding the back of the 2d crowd, be as authentic as possible and make the feel of actually playing the game enjoyable and exciting.
