Ya, you are right, it does this movement little different than I expected.
It actually does pan up and down, but left/right at the same time.
So I just adjust the other left/right parameters.
Thanks.
So almost done!
If I understand it correctly, those left/right values that I set are the most- extreme sides where the camera pan? So it won't go more left or right, no matter where the puck is. Is that right?
Yeah. I might have to mess with different stuff though to see what comes out right.
So here are the values:
center:
043A0B20 43D00000 (416)
043A0B28 00000000 (0) center

043A0B44 449C4000
043A0B48 00000000
043A0B54 42880000 (68) zoom
right:
043A0B20 42C80000 (100) down
043A0B28 451EC000 (2540) right
043A0B40 C5354000
043A0B44 449C4000
043A0B48 00000000
043A0B54 42BA0000 (93) zoom
left:
043A0B20 42C80000 (100) down
043A0B28 C51EC000 (-2540) left
043A0B40 C5354000
043A0B44 449C4000
043A0B48 00000000
043A0B54 42BA0000 (93) zoom
I made them comparing real life broadcast from a hockey game. So hopefully it'll work as the camera follow the puck. Really curious how that comes out

Do you want there to be a left/right threshold where the camera switches between middle and left/right values (with smooth motion) or do you want the camera to track the puck and smoothly zoom in/out while tracking and having the other values setup?
I didn't like puck tracking because it kinda bugs out if the puck changes direction quickly, so I was thinking thresholds. Most obvious when the puck is in the center and moving left/right.
Hmm, hard to tell really without seeing it. But if you say it looks better that second way? Just make it look as realistic/natural as possible please

I'll just try the easiest thing to get a baseline. May take a few days for me to get into it.
Alright, looking really forward for what you'll bring!
Thanks a lot

Step 1 - Zoom done:. Use with camera sideview code.

You can edit the last two lines to change the zoom. The last line is the center zoom (minimum) and the line above that is the difference between the min and max zoom that will be used on the left/right. The code takes the absolute value of the camera's current left/right angle and divides it by 2500, then multiplies that by the difference between the min/max zoom, then adds the min zoom.
Not sure if we want to change the left/right angle, as that tracks the puck, unless we want camera angles that don't strictly track the puck. I mentioned that I might try that earlier. Next time I'll change the camera height.
/edit Hard to tell if it's working with a quick look. Can combine with the one above
