Awesome thanks a lot!
Also great idea about making the vids, looking really forward for it.
hi mate,

not sure if this helps you point you somewhere, but just discovered that everytime that problematic place (around the center ice) gets in the view and frames drop, the GPU gets quite a significant hit. CPU runs around 60-70% and GPU almost 96%.

Let me know if whenever you need to test anything, please Smile
Thanks.
Was store efb copies to texture only = on affecting this? I tried to see the bug, but it didn't happen for me and all my settings were messy. Which game mode does it happen on for sure?

/edit I got the bug now.
It happens in any mode as far as I know, as long as you play a match.
Just go to "Quick game" and you see several guys standing at the same place (clipping ) at the intro of the match Smile

rfb copies do not have an effect on the bug.. it does affect the crowd tho.
Ok, I can fix it but we would have to go back to a gecko code. Did we talk about making a gecko code that can be disabled without removing the code's effect in order to avoid gecko bugs? I don't remember.

Use this AR
048170C8 4AA00000

with this gecko code:
$LOD bug fix
C2D96FD4 00000003
548F0636 5484000E
64840003 6084020C
7C847B78 00000000

and try turning the gecko code off if you see any bugs (the effect of the code will still happen). Even if this decreases lag, you'll need to check and see if the quality got worse. I can tweak it more if the quality went down.
1st, awesome job! The intros are now clean, running at smooth 60fps, without any bugs!

Good news is that the quality still looks awesome, bad news is that the lag seems to be about the same during the actual gameplay and some of the bugs are back (some players are losing sticks as the game progress and these sticks appear at the center of the ice)
I'll try to turn off the code and see if it helps with the bugs.

But ya, I think we are getting somewhere! Smile
Looks like turn turning off the gecko code remove the bugs!
Not immediately, but when you restart the match (from the in-game menu) everything looks normal again!
Testing more..

edit: so ya, the bugs did not appear as I turned off the gecko.
Another good news is that the code did not only fixed the guys sitting in the middle of the ice during the intros but also everywhere else, like in the overtime and powerplays.

So now the million question is, what causes such a lag, if not this? So probably the benches too? Smile

Anyway, good job! Thanks.
Glad it worked. Eventually a dev will improve the gecko system and you'll be able to leave the code on without problems.

Do you want me to return the benches to the way they normally are?

Definitely not, they look so nice Smile
But maybe one step back? I mean slightly worse Lod for the benches?

So right now, I should manually turn that one code off everytime I boot the game, is that correct?
Yeah, unless you load from a savestate.
