Hi,
I sometimes use the Hybrid Wiimote function, simply so that I can activate the pointer by using my mouse, and otherwise using a normal Wiimote (with or without Nunchuk.) But a lot of the time, I find myself having to switch between Real and Hybrid because when using the Hybrid mode, various issues occur, seemingly at random...
- The Nunchuk is registered as completely off-center (the same thing that happens if you hold the joystick to the right when connecting it to a Wii)
- Some or all controls on the real Wiimote don't work at all (including any connected peripherals)
- Turning off and reconnecting the real Wiimote doesn't work, you must connect the Wiimote before emulation starts
Is there any way to make the real Wiimote's controls take priority over the keyboard/mouse (for example, if using a real Wiimote it will act exactly as it would in Real mode, but the KB/M controls will just work at the same time) and if there isn't, could this possibly be added in a future update?
Hybrid wiimote is known to be hacky, not sure that there is anyway to fix it.
As far as I know nobody really cares about the state of hybrid wiimote mode. It's a silly hack and kind of broken. Use emulated or real wiimote mode
Well, I think it's an ingenious feature. But I guess it's just me :/ It's the same as adding duplicate binds on a controller, so you can use KB/M when you don't have the controller with you, but when you do, you can just use it without having to mess with settings. But anyways, I just think it would make the emulation process much cleaner if it was fixed. Any way I can get to the devs directly?

You've already gotten to Helios (and now me) directly. Like he said, none of the current developers seem to be interested in improving Hybrid Wiimote.

So I guess what you're saying is I'm the only only one who really cares?

There are likely some other users who care about it, but I'm not aware of anyone who both cares about it and knows how to fix the problems.

Hm.  Well I think it's just a matter of making it less hacky and more like putting KB/M input on top of Wiimote input instead of conflicting with it, but that's just me.

So, learn to code and program it yourself! You can and you are allowed to do so, the beauty of open source!

But I already know you will only come to complain and say "it's easy to fix if you just make it like this and do this" without knowing the details of coding and the intricacies of Dolphin.

I am in the process of learning to code, thank you very much.  And I have a basic knowledge of these things.  I may not know the specifics but I don't think it can be that hard to fix if you guys cared.  And anyway, if I don't know how to code, what else am I supposed to do besides ask for someone to care?
