Yeah, I see the issue. Honestly, while I do have a MotionPlus Remote, I was never really fond of it. Setting up the controller, the sensor bar, the batteries and charging them, the synchronization, loss of sync, you get the idea. But perhaps even these issues remain persistent if it was to be emulated. I was never really that fond of Nintendo controllers. (Wireless) Xbox 360/One Controller fan here!

I have Dolphin 5.0 installed on my laptop, do I need a sensor bar to play Skyward Sword if I have Bluetooth on my laptop?

thanks anyways.

Huh I don't know, I think the game could be completed on 3.0-354 but don't quote me on that. Also, is the Motion Plus implementation of JPeterson's build enough to cover all gameplay cases of Skyward Sword ? If yes, then you should able to finish it.
Get a real wiimote and you can play the game fine.

With BT passthrough, you can even use cheap third party wiimotes.

A sensor bar is recommended for Skyward Sword, otherwise the sword calibration will be significantly worse. I haven't really played this game, so I'm not sure if you can get past the screen you currently are stuck on without a sensor bar. If you really want to, I guess you could get past it by just pointing at a lamp, but I don't know what your calibration will be like then.

Bluetooth and sensor bars are entirely separate. (In case you've heard of the DolphinBar, please note that it's essentially a Bluetooth device built into a sensor bar. Normal sensor bars aren't like that.)

No. You have to draw something with the sword later in the game, that was impossible to do on the old emulated Motion Plus branch.

A sensor bar is a MUST for Skyward Sword. Firstly you can't get past the initial calibration screen without some trickery (e.g. a lamp like you said) and even if you get past that screen, a little swordplay is enough to make the controls a utterly mess, making the game almost unplayable...
This proves that Nintendo needs to re-release Skyward Sword for Wii U/Switch free of those motion controls. If it wasn't for those pesky motion controls, I would be tempted to play it. They went through the trouble of re-releasing Wind Waker and Twilight Princess(which was  something that no one really asked for to my knowledge, so why not this? Then again, knowing how things work in the gaming world, it will never happen.
Skyward Sword gameplay and game-design relies heavily in motion controls, the whole game is based on that (eg Quadribaba enemies). Remaking SS without it would drop a lot of its interest and essence.
Use the Gyro, or one of the joysticks like any other game that needs precise controls
I have been wondering for a while if it's possible to use a phone's gyroscope for emulating the Wii Motion Plus. Thus, Dolphin connecting (through some server) with your phone and using that.

Is this possible?
