Yeah i have dual core enabled, i been reading this forums for the past few weeks so i been using what i think is the most used config for playing Zelda TP.

And btw im using one of the latest rev from you Unknownforce.

No offense, but a 6000+ is an older and slower CPU, add Vista on top of that... Now 7 fps might be *slightly* under what you should be getting, but it's not unexpected.
awww excuse me for not having a quad core =(....

I've seen people post lower specs and having better fps, care to explain why?

Has nothing to do with quad core... especially since Dolphin doesn't use but 2 threads...(cores) It's that you're using a processor that's nearly 4 years old. Most likely you're comparing clock speed to clock speed and assuming that 3.1Ghz is fast just because it's 3.1Ghz. A Pentium 4 runs at 3.0Ghz, but yet it gets blasted away by your CPU... why is that? Because of the architecture... Base clock speed doesn't mean anything anymore. Yes, it used to back in those days. But now, you can't compare clock speeds anymore, except when comparing the same CPU. Now it's about architecture, bus speeds and memory bandwidth, the REAL specs behind a CPU, not just the operating frequency.

Dolphin is HIGHLY CPU dependent as far as speed goes... GFX card, memory, hard drive speeds... none of that matters as much as the CPU.

But, just to entertain your post, I actually do have a 6000+ clocked at 3.2Ghz with an 8800 GT in it, granted it only has 2GB of ram and not 4, but it's still DDR2 800, and only runs XP 32 bit, not the bloated Vista crap. But I'll test it either later tonight or tomorrow and confirm that I get the same results on that PC.

Well if you need help with the save game let me know.
okay so basically i still dunno what to do. thanks for all the replys Smile umm but yea it would seem to me after reading this that processor is the main beef behind all of this and it seems i have a decent one. e8400 3,0ghz 6mb cach. and i guess im asking what should i do. i have changed from OPENGL and that did help but still not were i am hoping. any ideas on what revision to use? cause i hear the newer they are the slower because of compatability things but i dont care about that lol i just wanna play ZTP fast.
so im using 4429 like i said before.and another thing i am more focused on the forest aspect of it. i have read all over and it seems no one can go fast in hyrule i guess i can live with that but i just kind need to get past this place. any ideas? thanks

"edit: also i forgot to mention i am using 64bit windows vista premium"
alright so i switched to DX3D and once i did that i found that there are a totaly different set of graphic settings under that mode so i change those and bam i have full FPS everyware i had to limit it to 30. but i still have a problem . what is watchdog? throughtout my quest lol i turned it on and like right now my fps is set to 25 and my watchdog to 40 and it seems to work very well but what is it? earlier i had 30 and 30 and sometimes when i would be in small rooms my guy would just RUN like a bolt and i couldnt hardly controll him. thanks for the replys
zocheyado, you should set watchdog to 60 for zelda
BerserkS,I already told you what is your problem in another thread, you just dont want to accept it.
You cpu is just too slow. Like Unknownforce said,it has nothing to do with it beeing only 2 cores,as dolphin only supports 2 cores.
It's just slow. Your 3 ghz will offer same perfomance like 1,5 ghz core 2 duo.
I have core 2 duo at 3,5 ghz and get like 18-20 fps around hyrule castle when everything is clered of darkness. As your cpu is about 2 times slower, you could be getting 9-10 fps atleast
See how zocheyado with e8400 3 ghz has fullspeed everywhere Smile
I remembered something alse you can try BerserkS. Try running the game with opengl plugin. I was getting 7 fps at the end of game.If you get 3-4 fps, then it's clear it's your pc which is too slow
I think you are mistaken, i dont have a 3.1ghz one processor cpu... mine is dual core 3.1ghz... is not two times slower compared to yours =/

And yes.... im full of denial XD
Well it might not be 2 times slower, but I guarantee you it's atleast 50 % slower.
It depends from game from game...since dolphin is very cpu dependand,I bet your cpu is 100 % slower in dolphin then core 2 duo.
And core 2 duo's are almost 100 % slower then core i7 at same speed.
It's just how it works these days. Speed is not that important, but what model of cpu you have
If you dont belive me, search for benchmarks on google which compare your cpu to core 2 duo..or even better to core i7 Smile
still dont know what watchdog is...and when i have it at 30 i have full fps EVERYWARE i just have some speedy spots so. why would i do 60 and be laggy
