Okay, I´m using a workaround for the time being... Cause Marshmallow/Nougat changed the way HID devices/Bt Devices connect to the OS

There a nifty little app called Game Controller 2 touch Pro on the Playstore. It´s a paid app, but worth every penny. It allows you to map emulated touches of a screen position from a bluetooth gamepad driver (dunno about USB).

You have to take a screenshot of your on-screen gamepad layout and match the app on-screen buttons with it. Then with a especial IME you send your bluetooth gamepad to those positions.
Works really good, albeit not as fast as a physical controller

Do you have the PR buildbot version installed? Uninstall that one first as the signatures will conflict.

I did a complete uninstall on my Sheild TV, rebooted it, then installed your PR build. I can map my shield TV controller properly but alas the buttons do not work once I boot up a Gamecube game.

I'm using the shield controller connected to the system through Bluetooth, havent tried the wii stuff yet. Mainly want this for a select game cube games. It says the settings were saved to the ini file. I then close the app through the shield settings forcing it to close and reopen it. Still nothing

Appretiate all your work on this, as it's been a long time since you could even just map the controls. Feel like there is some small thing missing to actually have the app use the config ?

When is this likely to return...
I'm no developer and I understand work on the project is voluntary so gz to all that has been done but is controller mapping along with support not a kind of major factor with an emulator... especially with all the TV devices now out!?

If you get a Mayflash device for GC or Wii, you can set it to that with the current builds or you can use 4.0-8766 to map controls. I use the Mayflash for Wii but configured GC with 4.0-8776.

Do you have a Mayflash adapter that works? My 2 port mayflash adapter with PC/USB switch leaves me with erratic controls.

Also, thanks SeannyM for your work on this!

I only have the wii one. for mine, you have to have it in the correct mode on the bar and select the correct setting in dolphin. the new nightly is said to have mapping working or you can rollback and update. hope this helps.

I tried the pr build from: https://dl.dolphin-emu.org/prs/pr-4410-dolphin-latest.apk

The Gamecube buttons looked like they were mapping fine.  But when I tried to do the same in the Wii controller, Dolphin Crashed.
When I would click on Wii Controller 1 I got the first popup for the type real/emulated/Wii Bar, similar to GameCube, but when I proceeded past this with emulated selected, it would crash next.

Is there a debug log, config files, or something that I can get for you to look at?

Thank you for re-implementing this.
Nathan

Hi, I finally got back to being able to test this.  I downloaded the latest build from the development site: 5.0-1389 which included your changes as well as a few others after, although one of those looked like an input redesign from someone else for MacOS, not sure if it affects your code.

The reason I say this is when I loaded it, the Wii Mappings went fine, although I made one mapping that I didn't want and couldn't find a way to clear it.  When I tried to click the button do clear it assigned that button as the mapping. I am trying this on a Shield TV with the Shield Game Controller.

When I tried to map the GameCube controls, the emulator crashed just as it did when I tested the PR build for the Wii Controls.  I see a GCPadNew.ini file there that is close to the size that the old one was.

I completely removed the old install and configs and started from scratch, backing up my config first.

I also noticed that the WiimoteNew.ini file generated from the Wii Mappings has Wiimotes 1 - 4 in the file even though I only mapped Wiimote 1. And all 4 are identical in their mappings, besides the Device line.  They also include mappings for buttons I didn't assign, such as the stuff for Drums or Guitar.

Finally, while this isn't an issue with the application, is it possible to implement the sideways wiimote setting in the mapping?  Perhaps a popup with True/False Toggle?  It would enable the Options/Sideways Wiimote = 1.0000000000000000 option in the WiiMoteNew.ini file.  When I add that line under a Wiimote entry, the Up/Down, Left/Right get flipped like you were holding the WiiMote sideways like you need for Super Mario Wii.

Thanks, Nathan
