Hi all, just want to say that I only recently discovered Dolphin but I'm an old salt to emulation, going on 11 years now, so I wanted to say great work with everything that works so well!

Anyways on to my issue. I noticed it was reported in another thread, but the thread it was reported in was actually started for another issue.

I was unable to find a place to properly report bugs, some sort of issue tracker, but if I just overlooked it, please send me a PM with a link to it and feel free to lock/delete this thread.

The issue is regarding Pikmin 1 GC with SVN r4361 x64 without JITL, and the issue is 3 fold, and they all seem to go hand in hand.

The first and more major part of the issue is that save games (to the memory card) will work for a time, and then just stop working. Restarting the emulator makes it work again, but eventually, it stops working again. To clarify, I can tell the game to save at the end of whatever day, and the overlay info telling me what memory card file it was written to will not appear, so when I try to load a game, it shows the last time it -actually- saved.

I was able to get to Day 6, before saves stopped working. Then the sound stopped when I loaded up Day 7 which is the second issue. I figured it was due to not finished LLE of the DSP, so I kept playing. I hadn't realized that save games had stopped working and played all the way to day 12.

Then the third issue came about, which is that I went to start day 12, the ship on the area select screen landed in the area I picked, then the emulation window went black (with just the FPS overlay there) and the day never loaded. I had to restart the emulator which is how I discovered that the first issue was present.

Needless to say, I was ticked, but anyways there is more. After I restarted the emulator, I loaded up Day 6 again since that was the last time it actually saved, played through that, saved before going into Day 7, played through that, saved before going into Day 8, and the sound cut out again. So this time I restarted the emulator right away. When I got back to the load screen, it was on Day 7, so I had to play through Day 7 again.

To make this long story end quicker, I'm essentially having to restart the entire emulator after each save, each Day to make sure it saves, and make sure I don't get the black screen or sound cut out issues.

One other note is that if I just let the game sit there, so it goes into the demo, the sound never cuts out.
Is that NTSC or PAL ? For the record, i played through Pikmin from start to finish (NTSC version) without much issues if any, except sounds issues as you said, some sounds are missing/glitchy and sound is cutting out/becoming even more glitchy after hours of playing Tongue

Never had the issue with the memorycard though, i'm using the 32bit version, maybe you should give it a try and report ?

32 vs 64 bit theoretically should not matter, but I'll give it a go. It's NTSC as far as I'm aware. US version so it should be.

But yes the sound is glitchy, so much that eventually it completely cuts out and does not come back.

Maybe they somehow managed to break it in more recent builds.

Any chance you remember what build you played it with and where we might find it?

Your wrong about it not mattering. There's been alot of times where it worked in one and not the other. And also i'm pretty sure he knows what he's talking about since he's a developer

I also encountered problem with savestates. Here is a file with a savestate and memorycard:

I think it was recorded with ~4380 revision, before recent savestate break.
Save is from end of day, when you can save your game. Game report that save was saved on memory card, but there is no overlay from emulator confirming it, and memory card file is not changing. But, if you delete memory card file from disk, and load this savestate, game will offer to format memory card (crating new file) and then properly will write save on it.

Hence why he said theoretically. Feel free to point him in the right direction, but do it in an appropriate tone.

Sorry I didn't realize that was a harsh tone, Thanks for telling me
