From the roster changes and how long it's been (four years!), I'm pretty sure this will be a brand new game, and not just Smash 4 again. Thaaat said, I can't imagine it will be the kind of change that happened from 64>Melee>Brawl>4. But that is kind of a result of the overreaction that was brawl, so it makes sense that that kind of severe changes will stop around now! So I imagine it will be really close to 4 mechanically, but with a new roster and new stages.
Also this is supported by the name that it is shown on the Nintendo news and Twitter - "Super Smash Bros. (Working Title)". Not Smash for Switch.

Bayonetta 2 is on Switch now and Monster Hunter 3 could be played on the Wii in HD via dolphin.
I still love my WiiU for Xenoblade Chronicles X, #FE and Mario Maker. But I acknowledge the last one will probably kicks in on Switch one day or another.

and on the smash thing, i too fear its a port of smash 4. i mean, 2018 is a release date WAY to close -AND- nintendo has a habit of hyping up everyone real bad with smash development and announcements.
so no, this wont be a 5. the only argument i saw that could show a 5 is the fact link was the BOTW version...

I'm not a huge fan of MH so I wouldn't have been interested in a better version since I already owned the original. As for Bayonetta 2, if I had changed my mindset of investing money for a console earlier, I would have waited for the Switch given it has a better library for me. It's a subjective thing, you're satisfied with the Wii U's library while I'm not.

MP4 for sure. I also hope that a fzero game that I can actually 100% happens.
Fzero GX was way too difficult and all the stuff that's hard to unlock isn't worth it. I guess once it isn't made by SEGA.
I thought it was fantastic
I loved GX. It's true that it was different from X tho.
