They'll probably be a lot cheaper after the Switch comes out!  I'd wait a month or so.
Probably not?

That might have been true when Nintendo regularly implemented full backwards compatibility on their consoles, but the Switch isn't going to have that.

At best it will have VC of select titles
Yeah, I doubt Wii U prices are going to dip very much. For used units, maybe a bit cheaper initially since some people may sell their Wii U stuff in order to grab a Switch. Retailers might cut the price for new units, but not dramatically (they want profits too). Wii U production has stopped iirc, and I know a lot of game collectors are eyeing the Wii U. Once they start buying things up, supply dries up with it, demand increases, so that's another factor to consider.

Personally, I'll pass on the entire Wii U library. I was only interested in Star Fox, Super Mario 3D World, Xenoblade Chronicles X, and Mario Kart 8. MK8 is coming to the Switch. Maybe the others will come eventually. I wouldn't expect Nintendo to do that right away, because that would basically be a big "f**k you" to current Wii U owners. If not, I can deal with missing out on those 3 games. Can't wait for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Big Grin
Buy a used WiiU to rip game -> Play that game on your PC -> Profit???
How the fuck would I play Star Fox Zero without the gamepad ?
By using emulated Wii U Pro Controller . I don't have that game so idk for sure but isn't motion control optional ?
And if you want to access the WiiU gamepad display (for game like xenoblade) , you can hold "tab"
No, it's not optional. Also the gamepad display using Tab triggers me.
Also, CEMU already have rudimentary movement emulation for the gamepad. You can simulate movement by dragging with the mouse right-click on main window...

Looks like the Switch pro controller has native pc support! No more adapters (excluding bluetooth) or crappy software solutions! Big Grin

It supposedly has motion controls and HD rumble, it would be great to see if those work also
