Yeah, I was almost positive it just launched with Pilotwings and Super Mario 64. Thanks for clearing that up. Smile
Which is more powerful, the nvidia tegra X or the PS Vita cpu/gpu?

Definitely the Switch. I'll have to check, but I'm pretty sure the PS Vita uses a pretty outdated ARM CPU.

EDIT: Also the Nvidia Tegra X1 is supposedly one of the best "mobile" GPUs out right now.

EDIT 2: Calling the X1 a GPU isn't entirely accurate as it's actually a SoC.

Only if we're talking about the NA launch. JP and EU launches weren't shafted. Remember, they initially wanted the GBA and DS to sell side-by-side as two separate products (which was a bizarre strategy to me). They didn't want the DS to be seen as a successor to the GBA. In that light I bet Nintendo didn't want to kill the GBA market too fast or have the DS cannibalize GBA sales too quickly, hence a rather tepid DS launch in the States.

IMO, WarioWare: Touched made the JP launch pretty decent, while the EU launch had that, plus a number of C and B level games. NA got jack. SM64 DS was a great game, but not enough for a launch. Outside of that, Ridge Racer is the only NA launch title I would have been interested in. So, 2 N64 ports...

Australia, for once, had a better launch with DOUBLE the amount of titles. But the trade-off was that it launched a few agonising months later. We got SM64, Pilotwings 64, Wave Race 64 and Shadows of the Empire. I was a happy little school kid thanks to Shadows, it was all of my Star Wars dreams come true.

And it follows thatĀ I was definitely chuffed with the GameCube launch lineup, as Rogue Squadron II was all of my Star Wars dreams come true, and then some. It was so good that I don't even remember the other GC launch games other than Luigi's Mansion.
Yes, weak launch game library is common.
But unlike Sony and Microsoft, and also unlike the N64, NDS and the first Playsation, Nintendo is now in a situation where AAA games, multi-support games are unlikely to be ported for the Switch, and Nintendo is not reliable at all for most of third-party companies so they won't make games for Switch if sales aren't solid.

how so?
i can understand graphics will be less, but if for example Unity and U4 are made for the switch i'd guess the engine is supported on the system and as good as all functions of the engine would work
maybe im living in a dream world here, but i like to believe thats the case Tongue
So how powerful is the Switch compared to the PS Vita?
PS Vita has 4 Cortex A9 cores , Tegra X1 has 4 Cortex A57 cores . There is no comparison
Imagine A9 is a Pentium D (two Pentium 4 slapped on a single die) then Tegra X1 would be like a Core 2 duo
I have Cortex A9 on my 2010 phone and seriously , it's slow as hell . Web browsing is also a pain in the ass (not responding , crash all the time) . The only emulator it could run at decent speed is Nostalgia - NES Emu
Oh , it's the well-known OMAP 4470 @ 1.5GHz btw (two Cortex A9 cores) . Texas Instrument made it but they went out of business for no reason , thus let the worst brand : Qualcomm Snapdragon dominate the market

That's not at all because of the lack of power, but because no one will buy a Switch to play Batman. It's not worth it for studios to port it. My local shop still have planty of Call Of Duty and BatmanĀ  for WiiU lol. Even at 10$ no one touch it.
Also, the fact that the Switch version of a heavy 3D multi-platform game will probably be the "ultimate inferior version" won't help.
