Since now with a dvd thread to free up the CPU thread, will we see performance improvements on quad cores or triple cores at least?

The performance is actually improved regardless of how many cores you have (but maybe not enough of an improvement that it's noticeable). Disk reading isn't CPU heavy, but it does take some amount of time, so it's useful that the CPU thread doesn't have to block on it as soon as it starts.

But only while the game loads something from the disk. So the stutter may be reduces a bit. Not while you're ingame through...
