I am not complaining I am just wondering if something isn't working right considering it doesn't even use up 100% of one core. I would assume if my computer was just too slow it would run at 100% of one core and then struggle. Not just run slow and have idle time. That is just me though. I will rule out os problems maybe run it in boot camp. Thanks for the replies thus far. I think I was right to maintain 3.5 on opensuse as long as I did.
I knew I would get snarky answers just for asking a question.
Dolphin very rarely uses all of one CPU core, it doesn't work that way, because of the fact it has to emulate a different system, the Processor spends a fair amount of time waiting. Of course, speed is still very important, just trying to explain to the best of my knowledge.

30% of each rolling interval my cpu is idle when running 5.0. Not too slow, actually waiting for more work to do. That just strikes me as odd. The snarky comment was the one telling me my game went from less than 100 to still less than 100. Actually 3.5 always seems to bounce from 99-100 no matter what pc it is on and the new version is almost 20% slower. I can assume perhaps the reason for the slowdowns is poor opengl 3 support on the hd 5000. 3.5 used opengl 2.1 (or so). Ill see if old revisions exist and figure out for myself where the slowdowns start.
I will also try to figure out if multicore is working. 3.5 runs suitably with single core mode but only for gamecube not wii.

Probably based on this.

I'm not sure you did try resetting your settings. Don't change any settings and launch the game. Then you can narrow down settings.

This is a funny (and often asked) feature request. By the way, do you also expect it to do something useful with the CPU time? If you're happy with just using more power and to generate heat as 4.0 did it, yes, that is possible. If you think about faster emulation, no, we did not drop some kind of parallelization, we just drop a busy loop.
There is an easy way to use 4 cores with dolphin: Start dolphin 4 times in parallel. You'll see, all 4 instances together have a higher FPS.
There is also an easy way to have a full CPU utilization: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/

Well I know which developer sucks. I will just fix it myself without arrogant pricks who can't code cracking jokes. Your lame logic would make sense if the emulator wasn't slow and only using half of one core. Ban me, can't even get a proper we dont know whats wrong here is the next step to find out why. You are being abusive toward me because you dont fucking know whats wrong.

Yeah. And what dont I understand and how did I prove it? Nice blanket statement like a typical troll. If my computer was underpowered it wouldn't have 30% idle time. Dolphin is idling without doing enough work. I have repeatedly said I just am asking why does version 3.5 behave better? It is faster and does the amount of work I expect.

Newer versions are harder on iGPUs due to accuracy fixes, but doesn't really hit even fairly weak dedicated GPUs
There is nothing you can do beyond using an old version which we don't support anymore.

Thanks, thats all I was asking. I will do some more digging to be sure. Thanks for not being rude.
