I have a slightly older AMD GPU, and I hope Vulkan becomes more stable in the future. D3D has texture issues in WIn7 (that went away when upgrading to WIn10, but it's a lot slower now), OpenGL refuses to get full speed in anything, and my GPU is too old to support D3D12. Vulkan is my only option until Dolphin miraculously doubles in speed in newer updates, or I get a better PC.
Uh, what GPU are you talking about ? Your HD 7950 does support DX12
Quote:DX12 Requirements
- Windows 10
- Latest graphics driver, and a AMD 7000-series, Intel HD 4400, or nVidia 600-series GPU or higher.
- VS 2015 Redist
You only need to get a better CPU .
And btw , Vulkan is slower than Dx12 atm
Odd. Every time I try to use D3D12, I just get a "Dolphin.exe has stopped working" error. I guess I'll figure it out.

EDIT: I think it may be that I don't have the proper Visual Studio downloaded. I'll have to check later, as I can't right now.

You do not need Visual Studio in order to use D3D12.

Attempts to fix polaris are either shots in the dark, or working with reasonably development oriented users on polaris that can provide valuble testing feedback. We don't have that either.

Hmm.. i see. I guess that means it may be quite a while before i see either dx12 or vulkan work in dolphin without crashing all the time.
Found out why DX12 wasn't working. I was using AMD's Windows 7 drivers. I have since updated, and surprisingly, DX12 is slower than Vulkan, although that may just be shader cache. Plus, I've been getting massive glitches in some games, like Mario Sunshine crashing when grabbing onto ledges or sometimes before I can even move in Delfino Plaza. So overall, Vulkan is the only choice I have until I get a new GPU, I guess.
