NVidia can't make x86 processors, which makes them unable to build their own platform.
And looks like Intel is getting fined again due to monopoly practices, this time outside of Europe , so I doubt AMD/ATI is going down as some say.

ATI won't die, anyone who says that is in idiot. In fact for legal reasons they CAN'T DIE. Because then they will start receiving money from governments in order to prevent intel from becoming a monopoly. Can't remember what that's called off the top of my head for some reason but I know apple gets the same privilege thanks to windows. Few seem to know how AMD started, look it up on wikipedia, it's actually an interesting story. As for intel's anti-competitive practices, it actually isn't hurting them. They actually make more money off of them then they are fined, so now it's probably just factored into their budget as a normal annual bill (set this much aside for EU fines, lol). I can't wait till the 300 series, finally get to see a functioning mimd gpu architecture. If you look at the diagram and specs of the fermi gpu though, you will notice that the architecture design is basically the same as larrabee just with much higher specs.

Wtf, did you even read that post or just quote it? He didn't say that. He just said that it's silly to compare a previous generation from one brand against a current generation of another. How does that imply that he meant that nvidia's last gen is better than the current gen? If anything it implies the reverse.
