I've searched google like crazy trying to find an up to date thread from any forum on the perfect PC to build specifically for dolphin play.

This will be exclusively used for dolphin (/older console i.e. NES-N64) emulation through an hdmi cable to a 60" inch LCD TV (1080p using game mode to reduce lag game mode).

I would be super thankful if any knowledgeable forum member could help me out using http://pcpartpicker.com/ to send me a build.

budget is $500-$600...

Looking to be able to run most gamecube games at 1080p (4x native) with a consistent framerate.
(I'll be using dual shock 4 with the soon to be released USB receiver)

I'm using my imac now and it runs dolphin VERY well:
3.5 GHz Intel Core i7
2 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4096 MB

This will be overkill for 1080p
Edit : changed the SSD

THANK YOU!

I'm looking to store almost the entire library GC games (and a small amount of wii) on the hard drive... do you highly recommend I get SSD over just RPM drive?
I think the SSD would be more for the OS, actually running games and what not will load MUCH faster then a console with an HDD anyway. I'd say go with one based on how ever much space you will need.

Good to know! Sidenote.. Any decent mini PCs that run dolphin?
This ?
Afaik, it will run most games full speed at 1080p . One thing I'm pretty sure of : The most demanding game - The Last Story won't run full speed all the time due to CPU bottleneck , lower IR could help it reach full speed though
