Assuming you're talking about problems with destination alpha, that's correct – the older versions contained a workaround for the lack of driver features. That workaround has now been removed because it was holding other things in Dolphin back.
But this isn't related to the S6 problems that were the reason that this topic was created. Those are driver bugs (not just missing features) that we haven't had any workarounds for.

You've already talked to the real developers of Dolphin. There is currently no developer working on Dolphin who wants to investigate and create workarounds for driver problems on Android.
Yah sadly I got the message. But I still have hope.
Yah the emulator hates Samsung drivers for some odd reason. Everybody going to tell you that nothing can be done it's not the developers or emulator it's drivers. But in reality the real problem lies in the fact that the developers have zero interest in trying to make the fixes required due to the very firm belief that no Andriod device is good enough to run the emulator at full speed. Again what there also going to tell you is wait for a unknown amount of time such as two years to the hardwear catches up. But if you read in between the lines of there BS they are not willing to make changes cause they don't want to do the work cause to fix it is a lot of work. They also hate when people complain about the Andriod version so a lot of the time they will be exstreamly rude. Also the Andriod version was created to teach Arms to one the developers and they figured why not keep it till there version of hardwear comes out that is compatible to run it full speed.

Mobile drivers often do not implement things properly, and dolphin uses pretty much everything that should be implemented. As far as zero interest, that is kind of true, as any way to accurately fix issues would make it slower than it already is.
And this thread sums up how some of the devs feel

Yah well if you say so I'm sure there are other devices besides Samsung that have driver issues I couldn't tell you if be exactly same as Samsung. But when you say slower then already is. When I still had my S7 Edge it ran the games fine few slow down time to time the sound was well almost non existent and choppy and so bad you muted every time you played. It's only when I got my note 5 back from Samsung for repairs did I encounter these horrible graphical glitches. So it's very much possible again I have to stress how much the developers don't really care about Andriod version and how much work it would to fix it they basically said the hell with it. So do your self a favor and don't bother asking or saying shit about the emulator on Andriod they will just chew you out and spit back in your face. So I am now just on the waiting game till one day the phone's and other devices can handle it. I check the forum occasionally to see then new and progress and see if the developers had a change of heart they have not. So I'm signing off be back in a month of so chow.
If you take a look at chinese phones with Mali GPUs running Dolphin, you're gonna see a nice performance, because they use an old driver. There's a comparison between Mate 9 (Mali G71 MP8) and Galaxy S8 (Mali G71 MP20) running Dolphin, having less than the half of cores on GPU, Mate 9 is by far the winner because use old drivers.

So it ran slow on the s7 and glitched worse on on the note that had a different driver? How are you saying this is dolphin's fault?
It's not it's the dev lack of giving a shit and I know it's a lot of work and Andriod is such a broad spectrum device wise. I'm sure it's intimidating that so many devices. I never blamed anyone specifically its more like a perfec storm. O also the S7 Edge ran fine for most games but not zelda when it had lot going on it slowed down naturally cause it's work in progress and it's the device fault don't have those problems on my pc. The audio like I said was horrendous so mute is a must. Also my phone hates this emulator my note 5 it not just graphical issues it will just crash as well obviously audio doesn't work.

You're not wrong here, but I wonder about your conclusion. Do you want to blame the one developer who wanted to learn ARM? Do you want to blame all others for not going the same way? Do you want to blame all users and yourself for not providing patches to improve dolphin on android?
To be honest, I see no need to blame someone for not doing anything, that is fine. I see no need to blame someone for not finishing everything, either. This is a voluntary project. So the only way I see is to use what was done, and to improve it if you need it.
Lol blame game again o Lord. Look I'm way past pointing fingers I know for a fact nothing will be done and I'll be very surprised if it does. With that being said I know this is a volenter project lmao it's game cube that was years ago. Also this isn't Nintendo here now is it. Y'all made that very obvious. Give it up already you developers are a stubborn group set in there ways no more needs to be said. My only hope in all this in few years the development team actually won't let us users down when the so called hardwear comes out that can run it full speed. Chow
