I feel like it would be a good idea to get the controller audio working with RVL-CNT-01 models because those are more common, and they connect easier, I hope we see this happen soon.

Sure it would be great to see that happen. But I wouldn't say that they are _that_ much more common, since you can't buy new non-TR models anywhere, only used ones (since what, 2010?).
So if anyone feels the need to play games on Dolphin with full working Wiimote audio, you are able to buy a brand new -TR unit as long as Nintendo supports Wii U. Maybe even NX will use them, who knows

Still, improving the non-TR sound would be a great favor to us who use the older models.
Same here, hope a fix comes. It s pretty common to get non tr wiimotes outside US.
And TR ones with nunchuk are around U$100 in many countries.
Also non tr users should disable wiimote audio as it causes frequent disconnects.
