Yup seems that way running sfc /scannow might repair corrupted windows files. It´s worth trying out. Meanwhile I´ll think about what else can we do about it

Alright, for those that have the same issue and find this thread later on:

Had to reinstall Windows 7, couldn't find another way, didn't have the patience. It works now though.
