Hey all, I'm currently experiencing major slowdowns when playing TP. I'm using revision 4363 by Orleans.

I normally run at 30 fps, but when entering certain areas my FPS drops dramatically. I'm running a quadcore Q6700, 2 gigs of ram, and an Nvidia 8500GT. I think that should be enough to run TP, I've seen people with less specs telling me they run it at 30 fps constantly.

Does anybody know if maybe it's the build i'm using...or any suggestions?
use the dx9 plugin. if u dont see it in the plugin drop down box, update your directx with the latest august 2009 release.
also make sure the framelimiter is off and other audio is disabled in the dsp plugin.

Do I have to use the bloomhack? It seems whne I use it the minimap in the bottom left of the screen seems to disappear.
no bloom hack needed, the bloom has been fixed
One last thing..is there any particular version that runs it better then any other that you're aware of?
the latest version has full working sound and the best speed, personally i always use the latest build to play any game
Bah, thanks krypking, you've been a great help. My FPS did indeed bump up..HOWEVER..one of the options seems to be disabling my minimap. I thought it was the bloom effect, but apparently not .Does anybody know?
that would be a bug in the dx9 plugin, some graphics still arent fully rendered properly
yeah thats a problem under dx9 i hope it get fixed soon
It kinda makes the game be in "hard mode" Tongue (though you can still check your map with the + pad)
