so i want to record kirby's return to dream land for youtube but it's very laggy. is there options i can do to speed up the game? and BTW i'm on a mac...
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012)
2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB
Boot Windows or Linux.
And no, I'm not teasing you for having a MacBook. Apple's Intel GPU drivers are slow, outdated, buggy trash. If you run Windows or Linux you can use better drivers and get much better performance out of it.
Also, use the latest development build.

Ok thank you!

With that specs I doubt you can run the game properly , let alone record gameplay
Kirby RTDL is pretty demanding . Your laptop may be able to run it fine at the beginning of the game but after that the game will get slower and slower (especially during a boss fight )
I tested this game on this laptop : i5 480M @ 2.9GHz + Nvidia GT 540M
To record a game at full speed (60FPS for example) , your laptop must be able to run that game at 75FPS+ (no slowdown)
Not to mention those macbooks get hot as hell and rely a lot on passive cooling with the chassis design.

but it can run ssbb and ssbm just fine and there demanding games
SSBB and SSBM are among the easiest games to emulate in Dolphin.
If you want a hard one, Twilight Princess late game, Rogue Squadron, Last Story, anything that requires EFB to RAM.

Ok thanks again
Just a hint: if you're really trying to record stuff, you can always dump frames instead of using a screen recorder. It takes a lot of power, but it won't skip any frames, even if it slows down.
