If true, that tegra will be based on the pascal architecture. If they don't update textures, effects, draw distance, etc, and just increase resolution, I would wadger this could run 4k 30fps.

Why not? The artstyle is what makes the game look so good. The biggest things going on is light scattering, normal mapping, realitime shadows, and perhaps rim lighting? I could do this all in ishiiruka in 4k no problem, so if the rumor is true, a pascal based tegra gpu would have to at least be equivelent, and considering consoles can be far closer to the metal, performance would be better correct?
Though let me mention that I don't believe the rumor because it is un nintendo like to use the latest hardware for their systems, ever since the wii. More than likely, the nx will run it at 1080p with a possibility of 60 fps if they want to go that far.
(Going to bed so leave me a reply for later.)
We know literally nothing about the NX hardware, purely speculation, and since Nintendo has a track record of not making leaps and bounds in graphical fidelity over current generation consoles produced by Microsoft and Sony, I'm not inclined to believe they'll start out of the blue, again, when we know literally nothing about the hardware that is in the NX. Not to mention that you're comparing an emulator, where we can take a few shortcuts in graphical rendering and so does Tino in his implementations, to a console which, "closer to the metal" or not, cannot do the stupid tricks we do.
Finally, your GTX 970 is a hell of a lot more powerful than what is currently in the xbone or PS4, which I have zero reason to believe Nintendo has plans to beat by leaps and bounds. Since they try to price their hardware attractively to the end user.

Fair enough. We will just have to wait and see.

Anyway, here is a nice summary of how the new zelda is a different experiance.

Bring Diddy Kong Racing back and we can talk . I mean the sequel for that game
Most people complain WiiU has no game to play aside from those major games like Xenoblade X , MK8 , Zelda , splatoon ...
I won't buy NX at launch . A used one would be much cheaper
I hope Zelda BOTW will be as good as Xenoblade (a.k.a the best game of the Wii IMO) . I mean how long did people wait for a single game to come out ? (4->5 years ?)That game was meant for the WiiU alone , not for the NX or whatever the name of that console
I'm hyped about this new Zelda game, the gameplay mechanic looked really interesting. This feels like a Zelda game with RPG/Survival elements in it, which is nice. The whole map is supposedly very big too, a lot bigger than any other Zelda game, which is also nice.
Long story short, this game will kick ass. =)

I read somewhere that it was slightly smaller than xenoblade chronicles x's map and 12 times bigger than twilight princess total land mass. XD
This is going to be massive!
Someone who usually does the calculations came up with 140 square miles. That's pretty damn huge. XD
I believe that's bigger than most open world games to date and I would also like to point out most of this games area seems to be land, so yeah that's impressive.

That's interesting, I can see they tried to add a Chrono Trigger feeling into it as well, in Chrono Trigger (the best game ever IMHO) you can also beat the final boss from the very beginning or anytime you want during the story to get one of the different endings.
I hope this new Zelda game follows that same mechanic to have different endings (or variations of the endings) as well, or maybe I'm just asking too much =p
