This is the rule we're referring to:
Quote:Regarding custom builds: We ask that users do not post about unofficial builds in other threads unless it can specifically solve an issue that the official builds cannot. You're free to talk about these custom builds in a dedicated thread, but do not advertise these builds all over the forum. If any build should be recommended, especially to new users, it should be from the official build bot here.
It's been a rule for quite a while; I think I still have some PMs me and Starscream exchanged discussing the initial wording (yes, it's that old). So unless Ishiiruka works with the 60 FPS patch and the official builds don't, please refrain from recommending Ishiiruka. As stated before, the 60 FPS patch works fine in master. Let's just consider this a verbal coaching session. Next time, however, we'll hand out warnings since we've explained the forum rules.
(06-08-2016, 11:08 PM)Admentus Wrote: [ -> ]The 60 FPS code works fine on the latest official development version. There is no need for a custom build such as Ishiiruka. Just add and enable the 60 FPS (Region-Free) code as a Gecko code. There is also a Gecko code for a 16:9 Aspect Ratio Fix. Just check the wiki page for Super Mario Sunshine. The only issue with this 60 FPS code is that cutscenes run slowly, but then again, how many cutscenes does this game have. In other words, there aren't that many more cutscenes after you have collected your first star at the airport.
The old 60 FPS code was a patch and did not work very well on Dolphin. It indeed required the VBeam hack which was quickly removed. Ishiiruka could use a hack similar to VBeam to solve that and maintain the audio at normal speed at 60 FPS. The wiki page lists a newer code, which is a Gecko Code as mentioned above.
And yes, I must agree with Helios and JosJuice that the latest development versions are much more stable and even smoother / faster than Ishiiruka. There were times I used Ishiiruka when the official builds did not have Texture Preloading or D3D12 yet. These days, Ishiiruka is only useful (at least for me) for it's post-processing filters and texture scaling (quite useful for Paper Mario N64). Expect Ishiiruka to crash a lot, especially when changing settings. The official builds really work that smooth.
I switched from my Ishiiruka build to the latest official dev version, added the 16:9 ratio code and the 60 fps code, and booted up the game. The 16:9 code seems to work, but it is messing up the heatwave effect and the game still seems to be stuck at 30 fps. Do you know why?
Did you add those codes as Gecko and not as AR? Which 16:9 code do you use, as there are multiple versions. Using the one found on the game's wiki page should do fine. Disable the widescreen hack in the graphical settings, unless it is mentioned it is required! The best to avoid issues is to use the default settings Dolphin is provided with. Revert all changed settings. The game ini file for Super Mario Sunshine should automatically change the settings the game requires (don't open the graphic settings through, this will revert the game ini settings unless you restart the game).

Is the Enable Cheats setting checked?

So i removed the codes I had and added the ones from the Dolphin Wiki, and now neither of them work and i've made sure I put them in the game ini correctly and have cheats enabled. No idea what i'm doing wrong.
Gecko Codes are added like this, in this case the Super Mario Sunshine codes you want:

$60 FPS (Region-Free)
Right click your game -> Click on Properties -> Go to the Gecko Codes tab. There you can enable or disable codes. You can access the game's ini file by pressing the "Change Configuration" button in the game's properties menu. The master button for enabling codes is found in the Config Menu of Dolphin -> Activate Cheats. Make sure each code uses an unique name. I think that Dolphin might have issues with recognizing codes that share the same name. Set the aspect ratio in the graphical settings to either: "Stretch to Window" or "Force 16:9". "Auto" may or may not work.

Umm... Are you using PAL or NTSC-U? That makes quite the difference. But in this case, both codes are region-free. So it should work. It seems the 16:9 Aspect Ratio Fix got replaced at some point... I must have been using an older version, which is Gecko. At least that one works, but it for NSTSC-U.
I am using NTSC-U. Also, with the codes you listed, widescreen works again, but heatwaves are just bugged and the game is STILL stuck at 30 fps.

Use only the first line of the wide-screen code. 60 fps flat out doesn't work for me either.
I just have the one issue where the red coin that travels with the fish in the Gelato Beach level is extremely fast and literally impossible to obtain. Anyone have a solution?
Turn off the AR code, boot SMS, get the coin, save and turn it back on?
