Hello,
I am quite new to this forum, but searched everywhere and can't find a reason or solution to the problem I am having with my samsung galaxy s6 edge.
For some reason the textures on all games are broken. I do know the games aren't faulty because they work on my pc.
Also I saw that others with a s6 didn't have the texture problem.
I tried Dolphin 4.0-5672 (for controller setup) and 4.0-9418.
My phone runs the latest firmware.
Thanks anyway, Jeroen
Can you post a screenshot so we can see what the textures look like?
EDIT: Ignore this and read the post below instead. Sonicadvance1 knows much more about this than me.
It's a bug in the Mali video drivers in the Android 6.0 release on the Samsung Galaxy S6, nothing can be done about it, its a bug in their end. It effects more than Dolphin as well.
Okay thought you would say that (hoped differently xD). Thanks for your reply any idea if they will fix that (ever)?
Textures are fixed in r9p0
Hey, I Just bought a HomtomS8. I have a Mali T860 GPU and Open Gl ES 3.0/.2. i am facing the same problem, on latest builds, Super Mario Bros has bugged textures as most of the models are just black. On 4.0.9075, Textures do load in but are graphically bugged and unplayable. It also gave me and error 'Failed to compile Pixel Shader'. I was browsing through the web and found that it was my GPU that was on an outdated version. Then I found that in theory, you can install a newer version of the Video Driver to a ROM. I checked up my current driver and it seems to be running off a release from JUNE 2016!. The current Mali Driver is R12p0-04.
So if you guys can help me, can you tell me how to fix this issue

You can try the custom rom route and see if Mali's newest drivers fix the issue. Is your device rooted?

I am kinda on edge right now. My device(Homtom S8) only has 1 Custom Rom, Lineage OS. I cant find it on their official site but many websites have claimed it and have legit download links. The option for Rooting is easy as OEM Unlocking is already unlocked and all I have to do is flash Super Su. But, I cant install it unless it has a new Mali Driver since i dont want to void my warranty for no reason,
https://developer.arm.com/products/software/mali-drivers/midgard-kernel . This is the site for my GPU's Drivers I am on R12p0 released June 2016. So if there is an update in Driver I will most likely install Lineage OS. So essentially, yes, I can say I have Root Available for my device but I would appreciate it much if you guys could also dig around and see if there is a Mali Driver in Lineage OS or if there is a way to install an update for the graphics card
From what I know r15 on the S6 doesn’t fix any of the issues, and the dev drivers are only a couple of versions higher. Not to mention the Helio P10 processor your device is packing only has A53 cores, and even with perfect drivers performance would not be good.

Yes but it does reach r24 BTW. I don't expect perfect 60fps I don't mind 20-30fps. This is the framerate with Mario Kart Wii.. But nevertheless I just need a version which can run Dolphin without these graphical issues.
EDIT!!!!: Okie. So i was going throught the Video API backend for Dolphin android until I used Software instead of OpenGL. Software removed ALL the glitches but I only got 1-2 FPS. This is on 5.0-2811. Now i am going to try out other versions to get some luck
EDIT2!!!: Tested it out even more and later versions of Dolphin REALLY dont work with Software Backend but pretty much every game will run without graphical bugs but only on 1-2 fps!
