I'm trying to follow the instructions in getting Mario Kart Wii to work on Dolphin, seeing as it doesn't save properly. I'm told to download a completed save and throw it into the Wii save game directory, which on PC seems to be User/Wii/1001000/title or something to that effect.

In Android, there's /dolphin-emu/Wii/title/, and so in an effort to skip what trial and error I could, I put the savegame I downloaded (rksys.dat) in nearly every directory there is in /Wii/, especially in the ones that closest resembled the example in the PC version.

... Unfortunately it still doesn't work, that or Dolphin for Android isn't quite configured for Mario Kart Wii. I have played Super Smash Bros. Brawl on it, however, and so that proves saves are being made and stored somewhere.
The build version, although it makes no difference in directory, is ~9233. I don't quite remember which one but it's one of the most recent from here.

I downloaded the MKWii save file from NGEmu, and I'm also not sure if that could be the issue.
Not that I expect anybody to be able to confirm if it's valid with this text display of the save, but I like adding stupid amounts of extra information regardless.

retarded amount of text: (Show Spoiler)

tl;dr: Could anybody possibly either tell me the direct path to the Wii savegame directory for the Android version of Dolphin, or confirm that it's unplayable as of now on Android, please? Thanks much in advance.  Smile
9237 should have fixed this but the buildbot seems to broken so try this http://dl.dolphin-emu.org/prs/pr-3800-dolphin-latest.apk its a pr build.

Cool, thanks for the link! PR for pre-release? Does that mean it's even more updated than the dev builds I linked? Also, I found pr-3802. Should I try that as well?
Regardless I will try both, and I'm wondering what you're saying it should have fixed. MKWii compatibility as a whole? I'm hoping so since I didn't get a directory path.

I'll report back with results.
That are builds for pull requests. We handle all of our patches within pull requests first: https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pulls

Ahh okay, pull requests. I did know that and simply forgot.
Unfortunately, neither of those pr builds worked, guys.

I did get a new sort of error. Instead of telling me to first reconnect the "Gamecube" controller, I just get this and am unable to use any controls. The Gamecube game controls do still work.

I used to be able to choose OK or back to Wii menu, which causes Dolphin to hang.

A PR build is the same as some development build plus (essentially) one additional change. The development build it's based on is usually a recent one, but it's not guaranteed, so trying out random PRs might give you an out of date version of Dolphin.

I don't recommend using a PR if you don't know what the change does. PR 3802 happens to be one that won't affect Android. You can read about PRs at https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pulls

Ah, thanks much for clearing that up. Since the recent dev build doesn't work and the PR build linked to me doesn't work, could you let me know the Android MKWii save path so I could continue trying to fix it manually with a save file?
UPDATE: Nevermind, all I had to do was disable all of the Wiimotes in the settings. After that it let me reconnect the Gamecube controller like last time to press OK and create a save.
I'm in now! Thanks for your help dataplays45!
I'd be interested to know where saves are stored too please so I can back them up.

lol yeah it's a little weird that they avoided the question a few times, but regardless I can tell you to back up the entire Wii folder and you should be fine, just like /GC/ for the Gamecube games has all Memory Cards stored there.
