Hello all,

Recently a friend recommended me to play Rhythm Heaven Fever, as I played the other games on DS before as well. After obtaining the game dump from him via DVD, I tried launching it. It works great, but there is one problem: there is a massive audio delay of one second. This is not suitable for a rhythm game...

Now I have tried toying around with my Audio settings but I have no luck in reducing the delay...

Do you have any tips / reccomendations for reducing the audio delay as much as possible?
This is my Audio configuration:

Available back-ends:

AOSound
ALSA
Pulse
OpenAL
Also, if any more back-ends are available by software packages, please tell me!

Thanks in advance,

Reboot

P.S. I am running Dolphin 4.0.2+dfsg-2build1 and I can NOT update yet because i will run in this problem.
Dolphin 4.0.2 has high audio latency, and there's no way to get around it other than updating.
Updating to development versions (~200ms latency fix), XAudio (not OpenAL), and there is the ini option "TimingVariance" which adds an additional latency in ms (not too low, maybe 10ms?)
Well I'll be damned. I suppose I just have to wait for the buildbots to work again plus a fix for the emulated controller support...
Fix to emulated controller support???

Well I have decided to ditch Gamecube emulated controllers for now and use the latest build available...
The delay has been reduced by half.

I'm unable to use XAudio as I am not running Windows.

The ini option TimingVariance, where can I access that?

Please continue to write more suggestions to reduce audio delay, thank you for the submissions so far
Sorry, haven't seen linux, there, pulseaudio is better than alsa. The ini files are in ~/.config/dolphin-emu/ or ~/.dolphin-emu/Config/

That's alright. I'm using PulseAudio now and the delay is near nothing now. Thanks for the help so far

Unfortunately I can't find the argument 'TimingVariance' in any of the ini files, do I just add that option myself and set the value to 1 in the Dolphin.ini file?

Files in the Config folder:

It should be within Dolphin.ini, but only on current development versions. If this option isn't created automatically within Dolphin.ini, it will likely be ignored....
