Ok so this has been going on for a while now. When playing a game on Dolphin Emulator after one minute or so, my fps drops down by 3. But when I go into another window and come back, it goes back up to its normal fps then after about 3 seconds it's dips back down by 3-5fps. Is there any way to fix this?
Sorry if I missed a thread about this.
Running on Samsung Galaxy S6 5.1.1 (SM-G920V)
Build 4.0-9173 (latest since posted)
(ARM Cortex A57 & A57, 64bit, Samsung Exynos 7420 chip 8 cores 2.1GHz, 2.682GB of RAM)
Sounds like thermal throttling. If you want to fix it, try to play within a freezer...
Maybe I shouldn't touch it for a few minutes. The wii games even run at full speed until it suddenly lag spikes for no reason. So my device is obviously capable of running dolphin emulator. Thanks for the answer.
Is there any way I can fix the throttling with this device other than a freezer possibly?
One thing you can try is make sure your device is completely cooled down to room temperature before opening the app. Despite that, this app will tax the cpu so thermal throttling will happen eventually especially with extended play time.

My phone wasn't hot and my cpu wasn't either and it was very cold when I let it sit for a few. So I attempted to open dolphin emulator and play a different game - ssbm. Still, after 20 seconds the audio lags out first then the game dips down lots of frames without moving anything.
Nothing has worked. Does anyone else have an s6 and have this problem or am i using a defective unit?
I'm using 4.0-9175.

Same here with my S6. I analyse the CPU temp and it's normal. After few seconds I lost 3-4 frame.

Ok so I've just noticed something worse... it doesn't JUST drop down 3-5fps. It actually drops from 7-10fps! That is much more of an issue to deal with, guessing this is a hardware issue.
