Quote:Well, the 410M is a very weak GPU, so bad performance is to be excepted. Not nearly this bad however, you should at least be able to run games at Native Resolution @ 60FPS considering that you have an i5 (even if it is a weaker model). I just searched up the Geforce 410M, and I was flabbergasted to discover that it supports DirectX12 according to Nvidia's website. If you are on Windows 10, DirectX12 will give you a BIG performance boost. So, if you are on Windows 10 select the DirectX12/Direct3D12 Backend and try again. Also, make sure you're on the latest driver that your GPU supports, as driver updates can raise performance.
That will not happen on a Fermi GPU (400 and 500 series) , only Kepler and Maxwell fully utilize Directx12
Quote:I thought Dolphin were a less demanding emulator...even PCSX2 works at least at 40fps.
Depending on the game . No More Heroes is a demanding game , you will need a very powerful CPU to run it full speed
According to
Dolphin wiki , i7 2600k @ 4.5GHz is able to do that
Btw , non-gaming laptop does not have the capability to handle intensive task , it will overheat when you try to run Dolphin on it .

i7 @ 4.5GHz?
Yeah, I guess the problem here is that my laptop isn't a gaming one
The bigger issue rather than being a "gaming" system, is cooling. Most conventional laptop systems don't have beefy cooling installed because they don't really need to. Dolphin is pretty damn good at making your CPU really hot, really fast, which causes your CPU to throttle down to prevent overheating, which causes stuttering.

That's for sure... Also laptop's CPUs can't be OC.
Anyway an i5 6500 with the stock should be enough for emulation...problem is the GPU.
That will be more than good enough for pretty much everything in and outside of Dolphin. Most cheap GPUs will be fine for Dolphin. AMD will only be good on our Direct3D backends and you can forget about Linux. Nvidia will work fine on both OSes and all three backends. Just pick what you want.

That i7 is outdated . It's only as fast as i3 4130 @ 3.4GHz in Dolphin Benchmark since Dolphin is a dual core app
Your i5 6500 will destroy it completely
Yeah I know. That CPU is okay. Also the I5 6600 costs almost the same, and it is stronger.
For GPUs lots of people told me to wait for the new generation... But I am a bit tired.
Try changing the Internal Resolution from Auto to 1x

Already did it...
Can the software backend (which I guess requires ONLY the cpu) emulate perfectly the Wii/GC (native graphic)? I mean...if you have a strong CPU
the software renderer is really slow.
